Help with wheel selection

I'm lowering my x sedan with Swift's and want to move up from the stock 17s. I'm looking at some 20 x 8.5 with a +45 offset and would like to know how this will work with the setup. I've searched the site and have learned a great deal but I was hoping that someone with a little more knowledge on the topic could offer some advice . I'm not going to stagger because of it being awd and the tires I'm leaning towards are 245/35/20. Not really looking for an aggressive stance just want to be close to flush. I'd really appreciate any help before committing a few grand to this project.

If you live in the Snow Belt, I would recommend 19". Your roads suck and the thin sidewall of a 20" tire will hurt your ride and probably your wheels.

Great advice, thanks. I'm in the south on the coast so it's rare that we have snow but the roads though! The wheels we are looking at are available in 19s as well so we'll definitely look into that. Thanks again

Offset and tire width are fine as far as fit, but 20s tend to look a bit off at stock height, the fender gap "appears" to be even larger than it really is. I'd take slartibarts advice and look at 19s. You can go less positive on the offsets to give a bit more flush fit at the fender if you want, up to a +35 if available in that 8.5 width. Wouldn't go any less positive than that though at stock height.
