AWD tire size help for wide rims

Ive searched for a few hours and only found one mention on the rim size close to what im getting. i know awd are sensitive so im looking for some knowledge on which tires to purchase. The wheel size is 18.9.5/10.5 +15/22. i was thinking of doing 275/40 18 for the rear and 245/45 18 front. any input is appretiated.

Size wise you can't really get any closer between the two, however the 245's will be stretched on a 9.5" wheel. Most places recommend nothing wider than 8.5" but some say 9 is okay, but from personal experience 9 is pushing the limit on them.

either will work in general.

I've run 245/285 on my AWD for a few years with no problems but most people run 245 front and 275 rear b/c the OEM rims accmodate those sizes well.

but 245 front and 285 rear is a closer match than 245 front and 275 rear when it comes to AWD as the diameter difference is smaller

Also with wheels that wide you're better off with the 285 rear and wont look as stretched

I'm going to be installing godspeed springs. You think 285 will have clearance issue and also another question I'm thinking of doing 255/40 on front and 275/40 on rear. Should I go with 45 tire height or stick with 40s.

with enough camber it may be ok, depends on how low the springs go, whether you have a coupe or sedan, whether you are going to install adjustable cambers arms front and rear, also the rims that wide are going to be very close especially the 10.5 in the rear...with that many variables you need to provide more info.. Check out the threads in the suspension forum,

for the tire size, try the tire and wheel calculator in the tools drop down above

yea I have haven't found the same setup with all the info. It's a sedan and the drop is supposed to be 1.6 all around. No camber kits or mods

Those are very aggressive offsets for a sedan. Look in Tech/Wheels and Tires forum for more information and more focused assistance.

You won't see that same setup because it won't work on a sedan (with no camber kits or mods that is). you'll need heavy camber or some fender work to get those aggressive offsets to tuck.

The wheels push too far out to fit without steep negative camber or beating the fenders out.
