Just got a 2012 G37X Sedan! Looking for recommendations on TPMS - pls advise.

Proud new owner of a 2012 G37X Sedan with 155,000 KMs of mileage on it!!! Hoping I can drive this baby to 250,000 KM or more!!!

Can anyone speak to these sensors??

ACDELCO TPMS173K - https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...812&cc=1503760

I am about to purchase them and wanted to know how hard it is for my mechanic to reprogram the sensors..... he is saying he doesn't have the machine to do it and I would have to go to a Nissan/Inf dealership?!?

Tpms is not a requirement to operate the car. That said, you'll have the low-pressure warning light glaring at you every moment you drive the car. You could remove the dash and then remove the bulb, put tape on the clear instrument cover to hide the light or just pony up for the TPMS sensors. They are not all that expensive and they are maintenence free. The only issue is if you buy a second set of wheels to run dedicated snow tires. Each time you swap, you'll have to reprogram the car to let it know to read the new sensors. It's pretty easy to do but any tire place can do it, usually for free.

As I live on the Gulf Coast, I have no experience with snow and can drive on ultra-performance tires all year.

Since this was a 2012 G37X Base Sedan 17" and the wheels were upgraded to 18", the TMPS sensors were removed but not reinstalled onto the 18" Wheels. So I still have the original stock TMPS for the 17". Anyone know if sensors are one-size fits all and compatible with the 18"? Anyone know if the sensors can be tested to be working before I waste time and effort installing them on the tires only to find out they don't work?? Anyone know the lifetime cycles for the TMPS?? It'd be around ~6.5 years old now, are they worth keeping or should I just buy new aftermarket ones?? Thanks

I didn't sleep at a Holiday Inn Express last night so I can't be sure, but I think all Nissans use the same TPMS sensor.

I hear five to seven years for battey life. You might be able to replace them if you're brave but it would be much simpler to buy new ones. Your local tire shop should be able to spec, acquire and install. There is a few threads in this forum with the part number if you want to be sure your store offers the correct sensors.

Sounds about right, or 100K miles. I was just going to buy these myself and have my mech install them. He doesn't have the machine to reprogram though. Need to go to a dealership.

Probably going to opt with the cheaper ones...

Someone mentioned in another thread within the past two days that he had a locksmith program his fob. Not all can do it but worth a few phone calls.
