G37s Coupe tire options on standard rims
G37s Coupe tire options on standard rims
I have a low mileage 08 G37s coupe with a 6 speed m.t. and stock rims.
The tires that came on it when I bought it 2 years ago were the Michelin Pilot Super Sports which I love but don't seem to be available in a stock size.
Last week I had the Infiniti dealer install a new set of Yokohama Advan Sport A/S tires which ride great but don't have the handling and steering response that I want (too squishy). The dealer has a 30 day return policy that says I can exchange for another tire.
Please make any suggestions of tires that you like in the stock size.
I live in Texas so I don't really need the all weather capability.
I'd also appreciate any comments on doing a "Plus Zero" tire size upgrade on the stock rims.
Does the +0 mod have any disadvantages in terms of wear, handling, noise, wet traction/hydroplaning, suspension issues or fuel economy?
Thank you,

Thanks, I hadn't considered increasing the psi.
I think the Infiniti dealership has a number of options for exchange, including Hankook, Michelin P S A/S Plus, and some Bridgestones.
I have to call them tomorrow to see if they can get more options in a Plus Zero size.
I appreciate any suggestions.

I called the dealer today and they said they couldn't get the original stock size tires in either the PSS or the PS4S.
They did set me up with a "Plus Zero" size in the Super Sports which will be 245/40/19 front and 275/35/19 which I'm going to have installed on the stock rims tomorrow. I hope I like them as you only get to swap out once. They should look cool though.
I'm hoping there will be more sizes in the PS4S once I wear out the new set.

The dealer stocks tires that they can make a profit margin on with brands people are familiar with. Hankooks are like a cheaper clone of michelin pilots. I ran them on a supercharged m3 with no issues I just ran higher psi to compensate for the softer sidewall

Dealer swapped out the Coupe's Yokos for the Michelin Pilot Super Sports in the plus zero size today. Nice looking setup and rides and handles great.
Now I have to decide what to replace my wife's Dunlop run flat 245/40/19 tires with non run flats, on her 2015 RWD 3.7 Q50s sedan. The car comes with a spare in the trunk.
We both think the ride on the run flats are pretty harsh. I'm thinking almost anything is going to be better ride. Maybe Continental Extremecontact DWS 06?
Ideas?

Great question. This will be my wife's primary car. If it were my full time car I would probably pick either the Pilot Super Sports or the Pilot Sport 4S. She isn't as agressive a driver and I think she might be more comfortable with a slightly softer ride. Today I rode in a car with the all season Michelin A/S 3 plus. They were suprisingly compliant and quiet. I'm wondering why some of the criticisms in tire reviews referred to noise and "hard ride" of the Michelins, they were much smoother riding than the Dunlop run flats that came on the Q50s.
Thanks
