why do people mount a bare wheel like that with no tire up in the air like that? what is the purpose?. doing that doesnt show how the wheel will sit on the car at all actually. my question is it doesnt help with seeing how fitment will be so why do people do it? is there another purpose?

You could run a stretch 255/45/18 for more room, or a 265/40/18 if you can find that size in the tire you want.
