TPMS Help

Hey guys,

I picked up a set of G35 stock 19s I am going to use as a winter setup. They came with the TPMS sensors (see attached photos).

Will these work with my 2009 G37? Id like to know before I go to the dealership because its way cheaper to buy a set of amazon/ebay than get stuck buying them at the dealership.

Given the age of the sensors and the corrosion on the stem, I would assume that one or more of them will be non-functional.

So I checked with the parts guy at my dealership, and he said it wont work that the antenna on the G37 wont pick up the G35 sensor and I will need different ones.

This response surprised me.

Is there anyone here on the forums running G35 tires with TPMS sensors that had any issue connecting with your G37?

I read somewhere that even g37 from 08-11 use diff sensors and 12+ use different sensors. Given the life span is about 7 years on sensors i would not use them at all.

They're cheap, just get new ones. Even if they were compatible, the last g35 is 10 years old and with all the corrosion on the stem you'd end up having to replace them before your next tire change.

The dealership wanted $100 per sensor, so $400 for a set. Yikes! That's almost more than I paid for all 4 wheels!

I ordered a set of G37 sensors online and will use those for the winter set.

Bingo. You just need to make sure you get the right mghz. What I actually plan on doing with my Lancer is to clone the OEM sensors with the FCC ID number so that when I throw the new wheels on the car won't know the difference, and I don't have to make a trip to the dealer just to reset the TPMS system.
