I need advise on spacers. I am going to be installing them for the winter with the duckfeet. I've looked around and it seems like the 20mm has been the best choice for a square setup.

Please let me know what brand you have, and how has your experience been with it.

DRM or DRS and what size?

 

The ones which are actually replacement studs.... DRS i think? 15mm all around.

 

This will be my fourth winter swapping 15mm B2AutoDesign Spacer Adapters. I think 15 vs 20 kind of depends on your camber and your drop. Both sizes are fine with duckfeet, IMO.

Some tips:

Use a thin application of no-sieze compound between the hub and the spacer, and between the spacer and the wheel.

Before you do this dance again next year, clean the spacers down to the metal and start over.

Since you're going to be installing and uninstalling each year, don't use the crappy half-height, open lug nuts that come with your spacers. Spend a little extra and get some quality spline-drive lug nuts. Here are some pics. The lugnuts in the first pic... toss them in the trash.



Look at the lug nuts in the second pic... spline drive nuts from Gorilla which use every single mm of thread, and you won't ever have to worry about stripping the heads. Which you will do with the little ones, guaranteed.

My camber is original ( never adjusted it ) so don't really know the actual numbers and no drop. It's still original height. Do you still think going with 15" will still be flush to the fender or would you recommend going with 20 mm

 

No way of knowing for sure without seeing it or measuring it.

 

OEM height with 18" Sedan Sport wheels... I'd recommend the 15mm spacer adapters. Understand, a square-ish fitment at OEM height is still going to look a little goofy, and it's only up to you whether the 15mm poke over stock looks less goofy than otherwise.

The thing is, there's a very subjective balance between gap and offset. And there's a very personal preference on how you want to prioritize and asses these things, from the side profile or down the length of the car. Personally, I think at OEM height with duckfeet, you actually want a little bit of tuck... which is why I recommend the 15's over the 20's.

When you research this topic, you're going to see wildly different opinions, so it all comes down to your own values, and how convincing various comments are to you. But in the end, they're just spacer adapters. If you don't like it, take them off and sell them for a negligable loss.

 

Any recommendations for spacer size with OEM 18" Sedan Sport wheels? Its dropped to the typical 26.5"-26.75" fender to ground on teins. I would assume 15mm would be the choice here as well?

thanks, NealP - the only problem I have right now is that I have my summer tires on and so I cant really measure the gap.

 

Hey Rochester, if possible, can you list the part number for the Gorilla lug nuts ?

I also have the B2AutoDesign spacers and would like to replace all the lug nuts.
