Wheels and tires question

Hey guys,

New to the forum here. Just bought a 2012 G37x coupe and loving it already. I want to trade out the stock 18" rims for these:

Set of 4 Wheels 19 inch Black Machined Rims 19x8.5 fits INFINITI G37 COUPE | eBay

Was wondering if I got them would I have to alter suspension or just get a set of tires along with them? If so, what size? Can't wait to start making this car look even better and be even faster. Thanks for any advice anyone can offer!

Welcome to the site!
Those wheels won't require any modifications, run a 245/40/19 tire and you'll want these hub adapters, this will snug the oversized bore to the smaller Infiniti hub flange, and these aluminum ones hold up much better than plastic ones.

Thanks! Good to know. Any chance anyone has ever heard of BMS wheels before? They look great in the pictures but can't find much more info. about the wheels anywhere to determine the quality.

To be honest, a new set of wheels for $600 is going to be a compromise. They will probably be heavy, may have a finish that won't hold up well, might be hard to balance, and might be dangerous (since many cheaper wheels don't undergo thorough testing for strength & longevity). Here's a good link for some wheel standards.

Many of us (myself included) have bought cheaper wheels but end up buying a higher quality set as time goes on. The difference in weight, strength, and quality of finish is pretty dramatic most of the time. There are good used options that pop up in our classifieds often, so if you have patience something that's much higher quality may show up, for not a lot more than that $600 set. Stock coupe 19s are a nice quality wheel that can be found for about $700 give or take.

Check our wheel galleries for other ideas, and if you still want to try those $600 wheels at least you'll have looked around to see what's available.
