Tein S-Tech Front Camber Kit, Uneven Tire Wear

Hey all,

I installed Tein S Tech lowering springs on my 08 G37s coupe in October 2016 appx. 6.5k miles ago. I ran an alignment and installed brand new Yokohoma Avid Envigor A/S tires. My previous front tires (also Yokohoma Avid Envigors) had inner tire wear to a point where chords were showing

The old tires had 17k miles on them before lowering (6/32nds), making total life span 23k miles. Rears had 7-8/32nds and wore evenly.

I am really nervous of having this happen again.

Has anyone experienced this before?

Should I run a front camber kit? Ive read a lot of people had SPC rears installed. Any affordable suggestions?

Here is an alignment from Jan before I replaced tires. The alignment was run again twice as courtesy check, and once again when tires were mounted. Should be same or more dialed in. Will get those specs tomorrow when I am at school.

Thank you!

S-Techs are deep drop springs and I would strongly recommend the front camber arms, you said your rears are wearing evenly, but if you don't have the rear camber/toe kit I'm fairly certain they'll be wearing much faster than they would with the kit. And posting those specs will be a big help, I'm sure it's not too pretty .

@blnewt Heres one from Jan, alignment was run twice after as courtesy and once more when tires were mounted. Specs are same, if not more dialed in

I will get pics of those specs when I am back at school tomorrow

Definitely get the rear kit, that camber is real high and toe can be brought in quite a bit on the left rear. Front will show some inner wear but toe is good, so the wear should be at least reasonable, especially w/ some A/S tires.

So I'd get that rear camber/toe kit and keep an eye on your front tire wear the first 3k miles. If the inner wear isn't excessive you could probably get by without the front kit, or you can just pay the piper and get the front set now, that's your call.

Front caster is high too, this isn't adjustable w/ the OEM upper control arms but the SPC arms have caster adjusters. I also have my caster above spec and prefer it that way as this reduces wandering tendencies, just a bit more force to get them off center.

Ask that the rear toe be set as close to same as possible. Your disparity can cause crabbing even if thrust angle is small.

Toe angle rather than camber is the big tire killer.
