Will sedan 17" wheels fit a non S coupe? Not concerned with X coupes as from my reading they have sedan size brakes. I am concerned with the rwd coupe without akebono brakes.

I ask because I am installing coupe brakes on my sedan and need to know if I can reuse my stock 17s for the time being while I wait for my 18s.

 

Yep. The non sport brakes are much smaller.

 

So you definitely know they will fit? The non sport are definitely smaller however they are a solid inch larger in the rear and 10mm larger in front than the sedan

 

To be clear, you are NOT running Akibono calipers right? I ALMOST fit a 17" over the Sport calipers so they should have no problem clearing the non sports in front or back. It's like within a business card thickness to bolting up.

 

Ahh here's my other thread I made awhile back. I misspoke, the 16" was super super close to fitting so the 17"should fit the sports calipers making it a definite YES on fitting the non sport calipers.

It's a help but to be clear I do not know the offset or width of the 16s you tried. I have 3mm spacers if needed but if anyone else could chime in it would be great

 

Someone with a base model coupe should meet up with me so I can try my wheel on their car. I'll buy you a 6 pack lol

 

They are Honda S2000 AP1 wheels:

Front:
16" x 6.5", +55 offset, 205 tire
Rear:
16" x 7.5", +65 offset, 225 tire

Haha yeah, we'd need hella spacers to sit flush but that's not the point. They are more ideal for a drag setup on some radials, that was the main idea of my other thread I linked.

 

You'll should be ok w/ the 17s on the 330mm front & rear rotor set. The Akebonos are aircraft carriers compared to the tugboat floating calipers
Here's a pic of the coupe 18s and the base calipers, looks to be a pretty good distance between the caliper & barrel edge (more than a 1/2" at least)

 

I have those wheels in my garage currently being stripped and polished. Worst case scenario is I use my 3mm spacers so long as the overall profile of the caliper doesn't touch the 17s due to it being slightly larger than the sedan

 

Ok so the 17s will fit no problem. Brake job is complete. Only go to OEM coupe brakes if you want the appearance of fuller brakes. They don't add any performance. They do definitely look better though.
