Wheels and coils help

I am planning on getting new wheels for my x coupe soon and am trying to decide what size to go with that will work best with coilovers. My overall goal is for a good fitment with minimal wheel gap but not to but my car on the ground. my original idea was to get some 20s and just fill up the wheel gap but upon looking a little closer i dont like the ride height as much. Im buying from Les shaub and asked them about it and they said theres no way they would fit and suggested i downzise the wheel but buy their 1700 dollar coils which i wasnt excited about. i currently have the stock wheels that i belive are 18s? So i was thinking that or maybe 19s and going for some coils that arnt as pricey. im not trying to have some beefy tires to i should add. any thoughts?

There are plenty of people running 20s without issue. The only thing you need to pay attention to is the width/offset to make sure the wheels not hitting the coilovers or the fenders. Since you have the X, the choice for coilovers is super limited. If you looking to save, check out the classifieds.

Going with larger diameter wheels won't change your fender gap, as you go up in wheel diameter you need to go down in sidewall series. A 245/45/18 will be about the same as a 245/35/20 for example. Like HoldmyMouse said, coilovers are limited to BC, Ksport, Stance, Fortune 500 and possibly a couple more. You should also budget for camber kits and rear toe bolt kit depending how low you go. Probably the best deal on coils would be Ksports for about $800. If you really want to just get the gap reduced you could run Swift springs and probably just a rear camber kit, would be about $450 total + install & alignment.

Les Schwabe? Isn't that a Pep Boys, Meineke, Firestone type shop? Please walk away and go to a performance oriented shop, it wont cost you a dime more and you'll get exactly what you want if you tell them what you're after.

i had a moment recently where i wanted 20" wheels. but then after looking at all the pictures on this forum i noticed 2 things when going 20's.

1)they seem to look best with ipl body kit. on the regular body coupe it jus looks too large something with the narrowness design of the coupe jus doesnt look right

2) u have to slam to look good otherwise its just looks too big on the car.

this was after spending days on the entire vossen thread and volk thread lol. i conclude to just keep my 19" volk gts and lower the car some more. no regrets so far lol

Wow, that sounds scary^^^ Keep in mind, if you have the original Infiniti wheels they must be used with the mag style lug nuts, they look like this and include that washer. What you described has happened to a few that have tried using tapered seat lug nuts on the OEM wheels. This is the correct one (just in case this is what happened to you)
