New wheels

Hey guys, went to a local shop and really like the niche "verona" wheels they had. I liked how concave they are, and give the car an aggressive look. My car is a 2012 g37xs coupe, black in color

For sizing I wanted 19", the guy said it'll be 8.5F/9.5R for 19",

Now I see a lot of people running 9.5F/10.5R,

My question is, will there be a noticeable difference in these widths? Should I go to 20" for the extra width?

Thanks

stick with 19's. It really depends on what look you want and offset. I have 19x9.5's with a +15 offset and they're flush with the fenders. 8.5's will tuck and 10.5's will be flush/maybe poke. Since you want a concave look, I would recommend 19x9.5 with an offset under 25

Im looking for a deep concave look, similar to whats in the picture. Do you have any pictures of what you're currently running ?
So the lower the offset, the more concave it will be?

yes, the lower the offset the more concave. So an offset of 45 will have a flat face, while an offset of 0 or 10 will be a super deep concave

Both of these are +15 offset, but different looks

For strictly concave I think the Rohanna RC7 is one of the deepest in that regard, here's an aggressive coupe setup~

I'm stock and don't really want to spend the $$$ at this point. I have seen this on several posts here and was wondering the following. On the pics above, the white coupe it looks like the rim's are too wide for the tires, like the tires don't go all the way to the edge of the rims. Is this an optical illusion? Is it by design?

It's common, it's called stretching tires. A lot of people do it so that they can fit wider or more aggressive wheels. The narrower tires help to clear the fenders so that there is no rubbing.

No, you are not mistaken.

This is known as stretched tire fitment.

In order to fit certain wheel widths and offsets, the tire width must be reduced as much as possible. Otherwise the tire would be constantly hitting the fender.

It gets pretty ridiculous with wheel and tire fitments. Known as Hella-Flush.

It's best to go to the tire manufacturers' website and look at the recommended wheel width for the tire size you plan to run. If you run a wider wheel than what's recommended it's considered a stretch, a narrower wheel on a too wide tire would be a pinch mount. A slight stretch or pinch is generally ok, but not really something you want to push too much, especially w/ a vehicle set up to drive at quite high speeds.

Something that your life (and the lives of others) depends on, shouldn't be pushed beyond what it was engineered to fit.

@2008 G-Man I like to run a slight stretch mainly for looks, but nothing extreme. Helps with fitment/rubbing as well. Nothing like this though haha

I bought these wheels off a member here and these are great looking wheels for the price. I have these on my car in 19*8.5+35 square. Here are some crappy phone pictures: (Also don't mind the messy garage)

I think they will look great on a black G.

Here are mine 9.5+25, 10.5+22. Bumper bracket had to be trimmed because of rubbing; now it's all good (except on dips while driving aggressive)
