Tire recommendations

What tires do you guys recommend?
I saw a few threads on this already but they are older and I'm sure new stuff has come out since then. Also I'm sure people have a good amount of time riding on their tires where they can share how the tires have lasted and pros and cons.
You input is greatly appreciated!

Car is a x, oem rims so tires are 225/55/17.
Is it safe to go down to 225/50/17?
I have some all seasons on there now but would love something a little more performance but nothing crazy expensive lol

Check this thread, and if you can run 3 season summer type tires you'll get better performance on all conditions above freezing temps. https://www.myg37.com/forums/wheels-...-new-tire.html

Its safe to run a 225/50/17, as its going down a size, and so you have absolutely no rubbing issues. However, the downgrade in sizing will throw your speedometer/odometer off by 3.5%, which will cause your reading to be off by 1 mph per 30mph [You'll be going 29 vs 30, 58 vs 60, etc.]

Just buy oem sizes unless you really want to change the size of tire. I would go oem if on stocks imo

We don't have an issue using a 225/50-17 on that car. Will be a tad stiffer ride but crisper steering response. The BFG GForce Comp-2 A/S would be a great sport all season that wont kill the bank. On a summer only option, take a look at the Hankook V12 EVO 2 or the Firestone Indy 500's on closeout.
