Suggestions for next tire

It's been a year and a half since I put on my set of Continental DWS 06's on my car. Loved the tire overall, minus the mushy steering feel. Being lowered has put a toll on them though and the insides are down to about 3/32 and the car is starting to tramline a bit even after alignments.

I'm leaning towards getting a new set of DWS, but am also interested in other options. Anyone have a suggestion for something that's on par with the DWS or even better? Been leaning towards the Michelin A/S 3+ and maybe the Toyo Proxes 4

The DWS edges out the A/S 3+ in snow and ice according to reviews and my own experience. The Conti's were the best tires I've owned. I'm going to buy a set to replace my factory Dunlaps before winter.

If you live in a place that sees ice/snow, nothing beats the DWS...the soft sidewall is an easy trade off. Will be putting a set on my Audi here shortly

...except an actual snow tire.

HP summer tires for summer. Snow tires for winter. It's more expensive, and inconvenient, but if you live in a place that sees ice/snow, it's the better choice.

I installed the BFG Comp 2 A/S on my G about a month ago. I am actually very impressed with them. Sidewall is much stiller than the Bridgestone RE050As that were on there previously. No experience with snow yet but for a high performance A/S they got decent reviews. So far they have been outstanding in the rain and great dry traction. Worth a look if you can't go with a max perf summer tire.

Yes, I agree. Dedicated snows are the best for winter driving. However, I have nowhere to store the dedicated snows, so I run ultra high performance all season tires.

I've been through a few Chicago and a few Tennessee "winters" with no issue from DWS

TN gets less than 10" of snow on average. Using snow tires in Tennessee is probably a big waste of time and money, making DWS a great choice. However, that's a big-brush statement. I suspect the Smokey Mountains get more than their fair share. Chicago only gets less than 40" on average. But when they do get storms, they can be nasty. You should probably still use snows in Chicago.

Decisions like this are relative to the region and personal experience. Having lived most of my life in Western NY... snow tires. Every winter.

Did I miss the part where I said I had snow tires?
They close down post here just at the prediction of more than 3" of snow...it's an absolute joke for anyone used to driving in snow.
You don't need to convince me that snows are the better option for that region but OP is clearly not leaning that way...but thanks for the google search of average snowfall, we all learned something today

I'm in New York city. No place to store an extra set of tires without it being a hassle so all seasons my best option. Car is only driven in winter when there's light snow on the ground or none

Are yours the old version or the updated one they released earlier this year?
