Any DIY mods to get OEM Infiniti center cap to fit in aftermarket wheels?
I want to paint my OEM Infiniti center caps and use them in my aftermarket wheels. Has anyone else done a mod like this?
It would be extremely unlikely you'd be able to use them, most aftermarket wheels use larger caps. What you can do is go to a site that sells center cap decals that you can apply to your aftermarket caps. That's about the best you can hope for unfortunately. Something like this~ http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/141938017234?lpid=82&chn=ps&ul_noapp=true
The center caps that came with my XXR wheels are essentially a blank cap with an XXR sticker. I measured my OEM Infiniti center caps and it's almost the exact same size as the XXR sticker. The only problem is that there are clips on the OEM Infiniti caps.
Using whatever means necessary to remove these clips (sand, file, cut, etc), I then assume that'll allow me to pull out that old bottle of super glue and put it to work. It's sound rather simple, I think I might try it. I definitely would like to keep the OEM Infiniti center caps on my aftermarket wheels; you simply just can't compare the OEM center caps to sticker of the Infiniti logo. All I need is something that'll match my OEM Infiniti center caps to the color of my wheel. I was thinking some regular-'ol plasti dip should do it, but I just hope the difference in the types of coats won't be too noticeable.

Well, if you can get those OEM caps to fit, then I'd just paint them w/ some Duplicolor w/ adhesion promoter, should look much better than plastidip. G/L****BTW, nice job on those caps iCrap, looks almost factory.
