Michelin PSS, never again
If i remember right PSS were discontinued for a period of time and there are a bunch around that are rotted. Ive had mine on for maybe 10k miles, -2.5 camber all around and no problems. If you do go again make sure they arent from that batch. Sorry to hear about this man
Typically 38 front and 36-34 rear...why?
I'm on my second set of PSS and while I've only managed to get 10k out of a set, they exhibited even wear.
Troll the Miatia and Porsche boards and see where those guys are getting alignments. I personally wouldn't use Firestone/Tire Kingdom etc.

At this point I dont think I'll continue it.....sucks bc I already paid $170ish iirc, but paying for a CORRECT alignement will save me more than replacing tires or worse...bent rims
I had a PSS blow out the sidewall as well. It was the left rear while going approximately 50MPH. I got off the highway at the nearest exit ( about 1 mile) with out any damage to my wheels (VR RE30) and was able to get a new pro rated tire. I was/am lowered but alignment was/is within specs with no toe/camber related wear.
congrats on the new tires. sorry to hear about the incident. Glad you are ok. I am surprised though I have have had good really experiences with Michelin. I had just one issue with a set of Pilot Sport AS -they were "flaking" on the edges but they replaced them at a pro-rated rate and I didn't have any further issues. \
Back in the day I had a BMW with low profiles. I decided to invest in a lifetime alignment program with NTB. Short Story? It was crap. Total crap. Managed by morons. It cost me $180 for the lifetime program. I finally left and went to a small shop that actually cares for cars. No problems. I think the issues with alignments is competency of the staff. NTB, Firestone, etc would probably be fine for a toyota camry or a ford explorer. We don't run that way. I should also mention that Discount Tire (a massive tire chain store) purposefully does not do alignments for this very reason. Alignments truly are finicky by nature, especially when they aren't regularly done (aka the bolts have seized). I think there is a very strong message when one of the largest tire installers refuses to do alignments.

And like Ryne I took my G to a small shop that specializes in exhaust & alignments only. It took the mechanic about 3-4 hours, and said it was a bit of a chore. My tread wear has been perfect (3 different sets of tires and over 60k miles), and my alignment settings have remained rock solid. Had him check it again several months ago and the specs were almost identical to my initial alignment sheet about 5 years ago, just slightly better since my coilovers are a bit higher than my lowering springs that I was on for the initial alignment. This is with SPC Front Camber Arms and REar camber arms/toe bolts.

Neither of us have gotten anything from NTB ever since.
Got over 40k miles on my previous Michelin Pilot AS3. One rear had only 2/32 and the other rear tire had 3/32. Both front tires still had 6/32 left but decided to replace all four tires
Telcoman
I'll never buy Michelin pss again either. I bought them in 2013 for my 350z and they were amazing, night and day difference in performance over other summer tires. Loved them. Got pss in April of this year for my g coupe and after a few thousand miles just had one blow out the sidewall for no apparent reason, no pot holes or bumps, flat straight road. And the performance of these is really disappointing. I think they've changed the tire.
