Winter Tires

I have a 2008 Infiniti G37S Coupe with the stock rims. I want to pickup winter tires for this, and I found some with around 3,000km on them, they are the Bridgestone Blizzak LM-60. The only thing is, the size of these are for the front 225/40/19 and for the rear 255/40/19. They were used on a 2014 Porsche Boxster. Would it be safe to use these on the G37S since they're a different size? Thank you

I'm not a fan of using the stock wheels for winter tires, especially our 19's. I personally purchased an 18" set off tire rack which included basic 18" wheels and 225/50/18 tires all around. Couldn't be happier with the setup.

You can use them as far as the sizing but like Goonz said, 18s w/ narrow tread is preferred for a snow set. The 255s will plow the snow rather than cut through it. And replacing 19" tires down the road is quite a bit more $$$ than 18s.

Which tires do you have on the car? And do you have the link to them?

I run 225/40 up frnt and 255/35 in the rear for the past two winters with my car lowered. My only problem is ground clearance, traction is never an issue.

I'm running 225/50/18 all around for my winter setup, rims are 18x8. So far so good, but we havent seen any snow here just yet.

Did you have to go to a shop and have them balanced etc? Or is it just as easy as throwing on the wheels and removing the others. Also is your car a sedan or coupe and did it originally come with the 19's?

My unprofessional advice is to get them aligned and balanced if possible, especially if you are using a different size tire and wheel. Better to be safe than sorry!

I found someone selling a pair of Moda MD11 with Bridgestone Blizzak LM-60 with very good tread. The tires tread came with 11/32 and they have 9/32 left. Some specs of the tires and wheels are

Size: 18x8
Offset: 32mm
Bolt Pattern: 5-112

225/50R18 95H

Would these tires and wheels, with the size, offset and bolt pattern fit on the G37S Coupe from 2008? They were originally used on a 2012 Audi A6 3.0T.

I'm running 225/50/18 all around..I believe bolt pattern is 5-114 on my wheels. I have the Michelin X-Ice, I've had the Blizzak LM's and they were more favorable performance wise than the Michelin's however they both are great winter tires, I like mine a lot.

No. Tires size is good but bolt pattern for G37 is 5x114.3

I have the xs coupe, so it came with 19s all around.

I bought my rims and tires from a shop, and they mounted/balanced them for me, and I installed them myself; I bought the tires in early October, so there wasnt really much of a point of install them at that time.

OP - i bought a used set of staggered sport OEM infiniti 18" rims for my winter set up. i then bought a set of 225/50/18 'winter' tires (actually conti DWS A/S tires) to mount onto the wheels. the shop mounted and balanced the tires the first time, and then i re+re the winter and summer set (which was also balanced) in late November & early March each year without having to re-balance the wheels. only if you have damaged, altered, had issues with the wheels would you need to re-balance. i do the swap myself since it is easy, free, and takes me less time (~45mins) than it would to load up the car, drive to a shop, wait, drive back and clean the mess in my car, etc. make sure you have a torque wrench on hand, but every savvy car enthusiast should already have that so i don't consider it a cost to the wheel swaps.

as for alignments, as long as you are getting alignments done on a reasonable basis (every few years) or when you've had damage or suspension work done, you shouldn't need to get an alignment done each time you swap wheel sets.
