Gosh. Rims!!!

IMO rims are such a personal choice we could throw out our own faves all day long and you would still have to decide.

Think of the variables too. Diameter, width, offset, style, etc. Some people take months to decide...others go through three sets in less than a year before they settle.

Go to getyourwheels.com and start getting ideas. They're a vendor here and have a great selection of quality items.

The worst part about all the wheels searching, after you find, pay for, and install your dream setup, you'll have a better dream

My problem with most aftermarket rims are the exorbitant costs. I mean, a good set of decent forged rims are $1k per rim. I've seen them well above that too! I bought my car for 25k. I don't plan on investing another 20% of it's cost into some metal.

Niche, Vossen, Advan, Avant-Garde (non-forged), etc all look great, but why bother dropping 2k on rims that are cast?

I just can't bring myself to doing either.

Agreed. 2-3K for rims on my car (worth ~15K) is not a good investment imo. Although, I've been intrigued by hybrid wheels like Enkei.. they claim to use casting with flow forming to create a partially forged wheel. Dunno how that works but they have lightweight(~20lbs) wheels for ~$1k/4.

What are 'rims'? I hope everyone using that term in this discussion would be purchasing the entire wheel, and not just the outer piece of metal that surrounds the wheel's face.. I don't believe a car can 'ride' on rims alone, nor can a tire mount to just a rim.

I feel like I'm pestering people when I bring it up, but if it can help alleviate improper usage of terms and not make you sound like you're straight jackin' fools like they're parked up at the drive thru in Menace to Society.. So be it.

That's great. Thank you.

Do you happen to know the term 'pedantic'?

Oh, I'm the first to admit I'm quite the *******. In every bit of the pedantic sense as well.

Different Wheel Construction Types Explained - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums - Camaro5.com

^^ Informative thread I found on the different wheel manufacturing processes.

I'm personally running TSW Interlagos in matte black on my car, and I love them. They are one of four TSW styles (Bathurst, Interlagos, Nurburgring, Sochi) that are rotary forged. All of those are available in matte black, if they tickle your fancy. Wheels are a very personal choice.

As previously mentioned, some Enkei wheels use the same flow-formed/rotary forged process. I'd imagine there are other mfgs that do as well, though I'm not certain. So there are options if you're looking for something better than cast that isn't as expensive as "true" forged.

SSR GTV line is flow-formed aka rotary forged as is the Work Emotion lineup.

My thoughts exactly. I drive a lot in this car so its only a matter of time till i run over something on the freeway. I pulled the trigger yesterday and bought some rims that looked good and what I thought were a great price for my daily driver. There called KoKo Kuture Lindos '' light weights''. There matte black on my White G37s.
I went with 20/9s +32 in the front and 20/10s +40 on the rear. front tires are 245/35/20-95y rears are 275/30/20-95y Pirelle P1 which was recommended by the company but so far not a fan of. I did some research on koko wheels and there not a supreme high end company but have there rims on a lot of high end cars.
