Riding on bare rims would be better than those RS-A tires. Awful. Awful. Awful.

Have not been able to use them in wet and snowy conditions yet, but I've seen many say good things about its ability in non-dry conditions for an all-season tire (especially snow).

I hear a lot of good things about Continental DWS as well. However I live in the snow belt and travel very often regardless of the weather conditions, and I love the absolute best possible snow handling as well (All season tires, Not a fan of having multiple wheels and having winter tires separately isn't an option, do not have the garage to house them either). I understand there isn't one tire that does all, hence I am researching all I can to find the one that can give me a good blend of everything.

If it does good on snow and is quiet, my top two priorities will be covered.

Personally, this is my first sports sedan/car and I enjoy it the way it is. If the tire is one reason it feels the way it does now, then although I do not know any better regarding other tires, I am happy with them, albeit haven't had a chance to push them onto snow yet. Reviews and ratings say that this tire isn't for the snow at all. Hence the reason I am looking into a better set of tires that can help me with the snow.

I want a better tire that is quiet, grips on snow, however not lose any of the sport characteristics or be a downgrade from now. Anything above is fine and I am willing to pay for it.

please suggest what tire are you currently using and why do you feel it is superior to RS-A. This will help me make an educated choice.

Thank You.

This will be my first 'true' upcoming fall/winter on the east coast, so I'm doing some tire shopping right now - prices seem relatively good for snow and/or all season tires. I'm leaning towards the Conti DWS 06 (updated version) since getting some good feedback from other east coast owners that had the prior DWS's on their awd G's and M's over the past winters.

I'm still on stock springs/shocks and will use the stock 17" wheels for awhile. However, until I decide which 19" wheels I'll end up getting (probably use the 19's for spring/summer driving), I'll just enjoy my car for now and get a good idea of how the DWS perform after a full season...

My wife has the 2014 Altima, so I'm picking up another set of wheels/tires primarily for winter and store her stocks - her car is fwd. We'll be trading in her car next year for an awd SUV.

Could someone elaborate on the tread wear rating please? In this case it's 700.

Thanks,
Sean

^ this.

I will also like to know more about tread-wear rating as well. I know the more; the merrier and I dig 700 at the moment, because that's the best I saw, without really understanding what it is.

Continental DWS 06. Faster and more precise steering, better wet traction, stiffer sidewalls, much more comfortable than the DWS. It seems like they fixed all the issues of the previous tire. You won't find a better all-season tire as of now. Brand new as of May 245/50R17 for your stock X.

I just put Michelin Primacy MXM4's on my wife G37xS about 2 months ago and we are very pleased with their performance.

I replaced my Bridgestone OEM tires at 32k miles with Michelin Pilot AS3's
They perform well in raging NJ snowstorms and get me home.

Funny you should mention that.

I was just checking out the Continental EXTREMECONTACT DWS 06 on Tire Rack and they are tagged as new. In stock and a decent price too. Price being relative of course.

I had two sets of DWS before. I got a flat and saw these had come out. I was instantly impressed. It seemed like I put a quicker steering rack in. Couldn't believe how comfortable they are. It's nice being able to keep your driving habits in the wet with these and AWD.

^This...I will be ordering these in V-Rated later this Summer. Car came with new Falken Ziex 912s. Only have 32k miles on them and I'm at the wear markers.

I have the Continental DWS, there are good dry, wet and snow, but suck on hard packed snow or ice, feels like the car is all over the road compared to all season Michelin's, my 2 cents.

I didn't have too many issues here in Wisconsin this year. I drove from MD to KY in a snowstorm up and down the Appalachians without issue. Tire pressure reduction can help too. The DWS 06 is the new DWS and I have yet to try them in the snow.
