Rim fitment question

Hi everyone, long time lurker. This is my first post.

I had a 2003 G35 coupe for many years that I loved. I bought aftermarket rims and kept my OEM 18inch rims stored in my basement. Anyway last year I sold the G and kept the original OEM rims.

I missed my G so much that last week I bought a 2013 G37x sport sedan. Great car!

My question is, I would like to use my 2003 G35 OEM 18inch rims for my winter set up. I know they are 18X8, +30 offset with different size tires. What size winter tires would work? I am not sure what the offsets are for the sedan. Are the offsets compatible?

Thanks in advance for help!

You'll be fine w/ those wheels, the offset on the current sedans is very conservative ranging from +43 to +45, I'm not sure on your coupe wheels but probably in the mid 30s. I'd run 245/45/18s w/ those wheels, or a little narrower 225/50/18 if you deal w/ a lot of snow.

BTW, welcome to the site, looks like you were a member on G35driver for a long time
What mileage did you have on your old G and any pics?

That's very helpful thanks for your reply.

So 225/50/18 will fit correctly on my old G35 rims even though they are 8 inches wide and the stock rims on the G37x has the same tires on 7.5 inch rims?

Sorry can't seem to find any pics of my old G (new computer). But it was a 2003 DG coupe with 90,000km's when I sold it.

Yep, the 225s can mount on 8" without issue, and actually 7.5 is the minimum recommend rim width for them

From: Framingham Ma,
Excelent info blnewt as usual. I run 225/50/18 fronts and 245/45/18 rear for my winters sedan sport wheels. X sedan also

Can't comment on tire size, but that offset will look great.

I was gonna sell my G35 rims but now that I know they will fit no problem I will definitely keep them for my winter tires.

Thanks for all the info!
