Nail in Sidewall of tire replace all 4?
Nail in Sidewall of tire replace all 4?
I have a nail in the sidewall of my G37x it has just over 16k miles. Do I need to replace all 4 tires due to the newer one having more tread then the remaining 3 and the AWD system?
The OEM tires which aren't rated well seem overpriced I can get 1 for about $280 mounted or a Set of 4 Hankook Ventus s1 noble2's for 673.55 and get $60 cash back via mail in rebate.
So I need to know can I replace only 1 or 2 tires with no issue or should I just get a whole new set?

You can replace just one, a pair, or all 4. It's all up to your own preference and wallet. The awd will tolerate up to a difference of 3% so having completely bald tires in front and brand new tires will rear will not throw the system off.
If you ask me, my opinion is to replace in pairs just like your pair of shoes. And depending on the tread left on the other tires if they are close to 4 then might as well replace them all. Oem tires suck lol

Dude...yes, if you just want a set of new tires or just want to spend cash...however, I would go based on thread life, if the tire is still new( and from miles, seems like it would be) , then just replace the one. I have a staggered set up and had a nail on shoulder as well, but other tire was still relatively the same as other side, so I just bought a replacement and kept going. So far wear seems relatively insignificant , so it worked in my situation...once I get more wear on the older one, will switch out and even them out...
Have the tread depth of the remaining three checked to see how much the difference is in the new tire. We can shave one down, if its a tire we carry, to match the depth of others. That runs $25 per tire.
