Review BF Goodrich G-Force Sport Comp2

These are my impressions after having the tires on for a few weeks.
Ride comfort: Equal to or better than the Hankook Ventus V4 ES that were on the car when I got it. The BFGs are definitely quieter, and they have a decent ride quality for a high performance tire.
Traction: Outstanding wet and dry. I drove in a wicked downpour last week and was extremely impressed with the resistance to hydroplaning, as well as the grip afforded from a standstill.
Appearance: They have a kind of squared off chunky profile(think Michelin) and a very wide tread. They look great, but I have experienced some rubbing on dips. Nothing major, but something to keep in mind when figuring wheel offsets and tire width.
I hope this helps, and I will answer any additional questions I can.
I'm running 245/45ZR18 96WSL on 8.5in rims fr and 275/40ZR18 99WSL on 9.5 rims rr, and the tires have a 340AA treadwear rating.

Nice initial review & impressions, might post the tire sizes you're using and the treadwear, speed, and load rating if you don't mind.
Thanks for adding this to the review section

I put 800 miles on a brand new set of stock Goodyear RS-As when i bought my G back in May before swapping them out for some summer tires, the BFG Sport Comp2s. For now i'm still running on the stock 17s and the stahdard 225/55 tire size. The Comp2s are the best purchase i've made for my G so far.

The RS-As are a comfortable ride IMO. They take bumps and imperfections in the road very well and again IMO i think that's due to their thin, soft, and more forgiving sidewalls. But i wanted a tire that had better grip on dry and wet roads and also had stiffer, firmer sidewalls that were capable of holding the road well while being pushed hard through cornering. The Comp2s have definitely fit the bill in those areas and have exceeded my expectations so far.

I've got a couple thousand miles on them now and they continue to perform flawlessly. It's still relatively early and i'm going to give my impressions on the tire as they rack up more miles on them as we all know a lot of things like grip, wear, and noise can change with the more miles you put on them.

While i was looking for a great performing summer tire, another reason why i chose the BFGs over a number of other summer tires which was key to me, and that's their build or shape. Like Roadrash mentioned their a really square shaped, chunky tire. And not in a bad way. Their a very good looking tire and come with smooth sidewalls which i really like.

When the RS-As where on the G there was a pretty good size gap between the edge of the tire to the fender. Due largely to the RS-As being a more rounded edge design. My hopes were that noticing this design in the BFGs the square build would help close up some of the gap between the tires edge and the fender and they did it rather well. The BFGs are much more flush to the fender. While their's obviously still a gap their that can only be closed up with spacers or going to a different rim with different offsets, and yer set on staying with the factory 17inch rim set up and would like to get a beefier built tire to help get the best flush you can, the BFG Sport Comp2s are an excellent choice....

Roadrash, how many miles did you get/expect to get from the sportcomps?

I have about 7000 miles on them right now, and expect about 15,000 from the rears, maybe 25,000 or so from the fronts. The only complaint I have with them is the off the line grip could be better.

Cornering grip is outstanding, and wet grip is also. It's just hard to get the car to hook up off the line, and I have an lsd.

Had mine on for over 500 miles and I second Roadrash's sentiment, these show their benefits most in the corners at low/high speed. Zero roll with these tires, and don't squeal at all in the corners. They are a bit noisy with some tread slap, and aren't the quietest or smoothest tires, but I feel that's a tradeoff for the performance aspect these tires bring.

That's very accurate estimation! I got same tires on G and 18,000 miles now. Rear tires are like 1~2 need to be replaced. Front tires got 5 left...
