I have been looking for weeks and cannot decide whether I should go with 19 or 20" rims for my 2008 G37S Coupe. Would the ride be too harsh going with 20's? I live in an area where the roads are pretty damn rough and I am afraid to go with larger rims which would require me to go with a lower profile tire. This is what I am considering for wheels/tires right now.

Vossen CVT 19x8.5 +32 front 245/40/19
19x10 +42 rear 275/35/19

TSW Nurburgring 19x8.5 +20 front 245/40/19
19x9.5 +41 rear 275/35/19

TSW Bathurst (not sure what 19's are available)

Avant Garde M580 19x8.5
19x9.5 not sure about offsets for these

I may lower the car in the future but right now it would not be a good idea due to above mentioned road conditions. Any thoughts on the brands I am looking at? Not sure how good the Avant Garde rims are, since they seem to be pretty cheap. Same with the TSW's. Not completely sold on the look of the Vossens but they seem like the better quality rims based on most opinions on here. I am ready to buy these right now, I just need some help deciding which way I should go

 

Those are all decent choices for cast wheels, I'd take a look at SSRs, they're a Japanese company w/ a good reputation and make some nice wheels, they have plenty of offsets available too

Also you can go a bit more aggressive in offset on the back, a +35 range for a 10" wheel is typical. I'd also go w/ 19s in your situation, you'll pay a bit more for tires but will ride a bit better.

 

I like the look of the GTV03's but treaddepot doesnt carry the tires I want to get them mounted with my order. Also doesnt seem to match fitment for my car using their guide. They come in 19x8.5 and 19x9.5 but the offsets might not be right according to their guide?

The TSW rims are Rotary Forged which seems to be better than cast. Such a pain in the butt trying to find the right look, and fitment in a quality rim I can afford. Trying to keep it under $600 per rim.

 

The fitment guide is for a VERY conservative fit, not something most of us that mod our Gs are wanting. The good fitment for a flush or fairly flush setup would be 8.5 +25 and 9.5 +35 this will flush up nicely on 245/40/19 front and 285/35/19 rear, this will give you a nice planted rear tire setup and result in a minimal 0.5% variance in diameter front to back.
As far as tires, what are you planning on running?

If you just get the wheels and order tires from someone else you should be able to get them mounted for a decent price locally.

I recently went from the stock 19's to some Vossen 20" x 10.5 all around, and the ride is just as smooth or better. Def a better grip from the tored on curves and less of a need for the traction control. I like the look of the 20's better as well.

 

You mentioned on the other thread that you recommended 19x8.5 +38 and 19x9.5 +45. Will I have any issues with the +25 fronts and +35 rear? I just want to make sure I will have enough clearance if I decided to drop the car a bit in the future. I would like the wheels as far out as I can get them while still clearing the fenders. The sedan pics looked good except for the front that was a little "tucked in". As for the tires, I am looking at Hankook V12 Evo2 245/40/19 front, and 285/35/19 (you feel this would be better than 275?). The next question I have is about the color. The SSR's come in silver and flat black. My car is the Platinum Graphite and I was thinking about the black. Tough choice to be honest, I like them both but wonder which might look best between detailing I am lazy in the summer heat and Ridgecrest, CA is scorching in the summer.

The other thread was for sedan fitment which requires a more positive offset. The fender wells have more clearance for the coupes so if you go w/ those conservative high positive offset wheels they'll be sunken in quite a bit on your coupe. As far as color, I like the black wheels, especially if you have no chrome on your car. The silver sets look nice on the lighter colors or on Gs w/ chrome trim (like many of the sedans), but they'd also look pretty nice on your PG color, tough choice but I'd lean toward the black. But if you see my car you'll know I'm a bit biased, lol.
And a 275 or 285 out back will be fine, the 285 will give a slightly more aggressive stance and will still tuck nicely in the fender.

Thanks for all the help with this. Its settled then, Ill get the GTV03's 19x8.5 +25, and 19x9.5 +35 with 245/40/19 and 285/35/19 tires. I am not a huge fan of chrome since I like a more stealth look (less reflective surfaces for lidar ) so I will try the black rims. I can always have them refinished in a custom color later if I really want.

Should be a good plan, but on second thought the 275/35/19s might be the more prudent choice on the back, the 9.5 is the minimum recommended width rim for a 285 whereas the 275 is more of a standard mount on a 9.5, so your front mount will be the same as your rear mount in regard to the relation between tire and rim, also having a few more mm to work with never hurts when you're not dropped.

Should I also get new TPMS sensors? I imagine the cost to unmount my old tires and transfer the sensors over might be more $$ than its worth. On the GetYourWheels site I dont see a way to order those separately from the wheel/tire packages.

 

You might post a WTB (want to buy) thread in the private classifieds for your TPMS sensors, they seem to come up for sale quite often, just be sure to post that you have a 2008 as they have changed a couple times since then.
I think you'll really like those wheels, hard to beat the style & quality for the price IMO.

But I don't know about the offsets. You think +38 / +45 is best for a 245 / 275 setup on a 2013 G37S sedan? On carid their system tells me to take the TSW in +45 / +41, and there's no other option for the back and just a +20 option for the front. I'm nervous about having to mess with spacers. I was also considering the Enkei Raijin, but their offsets are even further off (+50/+35).
