New 18" wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3's

Well, here is the first thing joining this site has cost me...

After seeing all the pic's with 18's and 19's... I personally think it looks much better now than with the standard 17" wheels and Goodyear RS-A's! Just looking at the tires, it HAS to handle better too!

18" M37 wheels (I think, got 'em new off Ebay from an Infiniti dealer...) and 245/45-18 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3's.

Checked all around and ended up getting 'em at Discount Tires - $70 rebate on Michelins and $30 for using their credit card, so $100 cheaper than other local places and about the same as it would've ended up getting 'em from TireRack.

Now to get 'em scrubbed in good and see how they do!

Nice upgrade, getting rid of those Hyundai Sonata tires will do wonders and nice wheel choice. Now you can actually enjoy your G

Put a few more miles on 'em last night! Not pushing too hard but definitely can tell a big improvement from the stock set-up - probably 80-90% just being better tires.

Anyway, I'm 42 and feel like a kid after his birthday wanting to go ride his new bike morning after getting it! hahaha! I had a few sports cars in my teens/early 20's but been driving 4wd jeeps or trucks since - the G is fun to drive, that is for sure!

Just a quick update in case any is searching for info on the Pilot Sport A/S 3's...

Just had to replace them with only 19k miles on 'em. Very even wear all around, just worn out. Good news was Discount Tire gave me $111 credit on each tire (originally $193 each, and 45k mile tread wear warranty).

I am trying out the Yokohama YK580's now. Not rated as high on speed, so not quite as much of a performance tire. But so far (100 miles), they are quieter, smoother and seem to be gripping fine. I haven't pushed too hard, but some decent cornering and acceleration with no hint of breaking loose yet.

Thanks for the update, nice to hear Discount tire took care of you too.

The pic was from a couple of years ago - have since deleted it from my photobucket account.
