Squared or Staggered Wheels on AWD

I have a 2010 G37xS Sedan and plan on purchasing the Coupe Sport Wheels 19s.
What are the advantages / disadvantages of running squared or staggered wheels on an AWD.

If i decide to go with a square setup I would get 4-rear wheels (19x9).

Thank you guys in advance

Gabe

I'm running staggered on my 2010x right now and will be transitioning to squared this week. It's been fine staggered but I think squared will look better and it will allow me to do a four wheel rotation.

I can't speak to any other benefits as of yet though I'm hoping the lighter rims and tires will make a bit if a difference.

square= cheaper since you can rotate the tires.
staggered= marginally better handling with a little more understeer? and more aggressive look.

my setups:
OEM= Staggered
Winter= Square
Volk RE30s= Staggered

i have had 2 sets of after market wheels and they all have been square.

Just because i dont want to deal with the headache of calculating the difference.
Also you can rotate the wheels

only downside i heard was that if you need to replace one tire and the other 3 are pretty worn it can throw the awd off, but thats only what i heard never experienced it

From: Framingham Ma,
I ran staggered on my X coupe and am now running Staggered on my X sedan now.
No issues But the aggressive look is really nice.

I am running a staggered setup during the summer months on my 2009 G37X. 19x8.5 and 245/40/19 in the front and 19x9.5 and 275/35/19 in the rear. No problems with AWD and it looks great. Now I also wanted to get extra life out of the tires so I went with Continental Extreme Contact DWS so you can rotate side to side.

I am thinking of going square so that I can rotate the wheels.

I say that now, but who knows what I will end up doing.

If I decide to go with the square setup will I have any kind of issues with steering since the wheels are wider in the front

your steering should feel more weighted which is a good thing depending on how you look at it.

It's too bad the coupe 19s are such a minimal stagger, don't get much difference, but both setups have their pros & cons. I like the look of an aggressive stagger but a nice looking square setup w/ some classy wheels looks great too, and like mentioned you have the benefit of being able to truly rotate them for better tread life & cheaper tires.

should i pull the trigger on a set of squared or staggered wheels. I really like the fact that i can do a complete tire rotation with the square. But i like the way the staggered looks

Which one will give me better handling

You probably would get more value out of squared. Likely why I will as well..

Square will have a more neutral feel where staggered will give a bit more understeer which the X has already, thus increasing it.
