Smile Tire selection time :) Advice Guys ?

Well i've been searching for tires for my new Vossen CV1

245/35/20 FRONT
285/30/20 REAR

G37X Coupe not lowered.

So Far :
Falken Tire - Azenis FK453

Any Suggestion's this tire is a bit expensive but seems to be giving me the best of both worlds lol

Whats your take ?

As for the size 275 won't work because i have X and need to be < 1%

Thank You

I personally wouldn't put those Falkens on a beater. I'm not a fan.

The best performing tire out there is the Michelin Pilot Super Sport. Treadwear is OK but not great. I got about 30K. They're not for winter use though. If you need year round use and good performance, try the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3.

Moved to wheel and tire forum.

Question: What setup do you have that got you 30K out of the PSS?

I have a set on order, but I'm almost certain I won't reach 30K, maybe not even 20K, since I have a staggered setup.

Hmmmm , a bit confused . Why would you say that im putting the fk453's on a beater lol , i'm thinking of mounting them on my G37x Coupe and the mags that i have purchase are Vossen CV1 . Staggered Set-up .

I'm looking for more of a performance tire then an all season tire, since for winter tires i have the X-ICE 3 all around

From what i hear FK453 tires are pretty good and stick well ...

I suspect BB is saying that he wouldn't put those tires on a beater car, let alone his performance luxury car. Have you looked at Hankook Ventus V12 Evos? You get 80% of the Michelin Pilot Super Sport performance at 50% of the cost.

LOL ahaha , really BB the FK453 are that bad in your opinion ?
The V12 people say are loose ride tires not as stick as the FK453's ...

GoFightNguyen, what are you running on your car ?

I'm getting my exhaust and intakes this week and already have the CV1's my car's in the show because some lady smacked me with her minivan in the winter

That's just one man's interpretation. He might mean something entirely different.

I've got Bridgestone S-04 pole positions on my car. I'm pretty happy with them, tirerack rates them directly behind the PSS, but they're pretty expensive. For summer tires, I would say the PSS tops the list, the S-04 pole positions are good, the ventus V12 evo's are okay, and everything else kind of falls behind.

The best rated all seasons I've seen would be the Continental Extreme Contacts.

I wasn't commenting on your car, I was saying that I don't think those tires are very good. I wouldn't put then on my beater. Just personal opinion from experience of others. I haven't had a set of Falken tires on any of my cars in a while.

I had 245/35/20, 275/30/20 on my G and got right at 30K on the fronts. I changed the rears out slightly before that but they still had a tiny bit of life left.

That is very reassuring! If I can get even 25% more life out of these tires, I'll be happy! I'm looking at ~15,000 miles on my rears and they're down to 4/32". Fronts look good, though.

Not much to choose from, but those Hankook V12's are a great bang for the buck. I have many happy customers on those. I'd also look at the B-Stone RE760.

A friend of mine has them on his C6 Vette, and they really have exceptional dry grip and seem to be wearing very well. I've yet to hear a bad review for them, I haven't been in the rain w/ his Vette but he says they're a great wet tire too.
