fixing curb rash with sandpaper?

googled fixing curb rash and read how people were sanding their rims with 320 grade sandpaper, wetting the area after, and rubbing it. Attached is the result of that; it looks just as bad. Any ideas how to fix it?

I doubt the rental company would ding you for that small area unless it's worse than that pic looks. Was it more than one wheel cap that was scuffed up?

I can't imagine they'll ding you for that? I've turned them in missing hubcaps before (long story but let's just say it involved Vegas and a divider and... Anyway)

Highly doubt they will ding you as well, how much could a new hubcap possibly cost anyway?

LOLLL

They're right. Most car rentals use the credit card rule: if its larger than the card, you pay. If the card covers the damage don't worry

Have you seen how much dealerships ask for one stupid hubcap? My sister had lost one on her corolla they wanted stinkin 80 bucks for one..But I didn't realize it was a rental. I don't think they'll dock you for it. I think you'll be fine.

you need like 600 grit sand paper, and sand it very lightly.
that should make it less noticable.

then maybe a super light coat of clear, like one pass to take away the yellow scuff marks.

It might be more noticeable if you start sanding on it
