2011 G37X - Tire warranty? Help!!

Hi all,

I recently bought a 2011 G37X couple weeks ago.......and the tires currently on my vehicle are Goodyear Eagle RS-A P225/55R17, on all 4 wheels.

The tread is bald as f**k...I have no idea what the original owner was doing with the car. It's got about 33k mileage on the car as of right now.

Do I qualify for ANY type of warranty? to have the tires replaced?

I'm not even sure if these tires have warranty on them remaining, how would I find out?

33k miles on the RS-A tires isn't unusual. Doubt there would be any warranty claim you could make. I'd just pony up the cash for some REAL tires, those RS-As are a truly horrible tire that is better suited to a Civic

Fully agree. Had those on a 3-series before and they are absolutely horrible. Mediocre dry traction and poor wet traction. These belong on a 1980s Buick.

Despite the $800 cost you're about the incur, your RS-A tires going bald is actually a blessing in disguise.

When I got my G the tires on it were almost worn so the dealer agreed to put on new ones before delivery. When I found out they would be putting OEM RS-A tires, I quickly requested that they put new winters on instead and I'll buy myself summer tires when spring comes. Best decision ever!!

Thanks for your replies, I appreciated it.

I live in NYC, is there a good brand ALL Season tire that you would recommend. For casual driving and A+ Tread life.

I had 15k miles on my car brand new and the P.O.S goodyear tires were dry rotting. I have the tire warranty package but it of course doesnt cover that and the dealer did nothing for me. I ended up going with Continental Pure Contact tires and they're great, perform well in the snow so far. Also less road noise.

I would not recommend Continental ExtremeContact DWS. Ride is a bit harsh on them. (Not surprised, they're rated as ultra high performance all season.) Since I have upgraded sway bars, I opted for quieter/smoother tires such as the Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus. (Grand Touring all season) They're really quiet and can take potholes very well without any bubbling/damage. They're also much more comfortable and will be fine even if you push them hard.

I live in Boston (used to live in NJ) so I know how bad the roads can get in NY.

Also, the Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus's give you 75,000 mile treadlife warranty.

My car was auctioned, a dealer went to the auction to get them for me. I could not physically observe the tires. Also the tires wasn't a factor for the car for me.

But do you think it's recommended to change my garbage Goodyear RS-A before next winter, or can i ride them out during Summer/Fall?

I looked into the Continental pureContact. They have such good reviews and good ratings by the government

Put it this way, I changed out my RS-As before I had my first oil change, they're THAT bad.
I've been very happy w/ my Toyo Proxes4 Plus A/S, got about 15k miles on them thus far and it looks like I can get about 40k at the rate they're wearing. Been good in all conditions excepet haven't tried them in heavier snow, just a couple inches around here since I've had them

RS-A's are crap. Crashed my camaro with them To this day I suspect if I had better tires the car would not have likely lost control.

Ok, the tires aren't THAT bad. It depends on your driving style. If you're a very aggressive driver, then yes, you should probably replace them asap as they will not hold up under aggressive driving conditions. If you're like me and just mostly cruise on the highway for work, run them until they're dead, no sense in wasting tires.

I'm sure there is no warranty left on those tires.
I would replace your tires ASAP as you are risking your life as well as others by driving on bald tires.
I just replaced my OEM Bridgestone at 32.6k miles even though they still had 5/32 left. I could feel slight hydroplaning in heavy rain and had little traction in snow and ice so I got rid of them.
My new Michelin Pilot AS3 tires have made a tremendous difference especially in all the snow we've had lately here in NJ.
I have good traction on hard packed snow and ice on level ground.
They did fail me recently in over 6" of snow on an upgrade into my driveway.

I had to shovel the snow before I could reach my garage.

How do you think your bald tires would perform in this kind of weather?
