So I have found the wheels I want, almost.

Rays Gramlight 57Xtreme in sunlight silver. I have a graphite shadow sedan and I think this will contrast nicely.

Its AWD so square set up is a must and ill go 8.5" for width.

Now im stuck between 18s and 19s. I have done some research, and I've weighed the pros and cons, 18's seem to be a smarter choice.

I commute into the city (NYC), this is my DD, so i think 18's will respond to potholes/wear and tear better.

price between the two isnt really a deciding factor for me.

19's really do look better.

18's ride quality? would it even make much of a difference?

Reaching out to the community on here for some help. I'm just looking to get peoples opinions, maybe a similar experience??? I'm dropped on swift springs, running stock 17's with cont DWS. I have had lower profile tire/wheel set ups on other cars and sometimes I would feel the road more but it really didn't make it worse, but i know every setup is different.

Thanks for the help!

Will you ever by upgrading the brakes? Clearing the BBK is a hard-stop consideration.

Nice wheels. Can't go wrong with RAYS.

Those are really sharp. Please don't make me question the choices I've made so far!

You CAN stagger these wheels - having an AWD doesn't mean you have to have a square set. You just have to ensure the rotational diameter of your wheels has less than a 1% difference between the front and rear.

This ^^
Those Rays in a staggered fit will give a much more aggressive stance and w/ more rubber out back it will feel more planted. If & when you need help just shoot me a PM, set up quite a few X guys w/ staggered's.

Great choice on those Rays.

I'm also lowered on Swifts and was debating between 19's and 20's. In the end, I decided to go with 20's and I'm glad I did. The ride quality from my OEM 18's and my 20's wasn't such difference that gave me any remorse.

The ride quality is stiffer but it's not a huge difference. I guess that assessment is relative from person to person.

I hope this helps.

These are nice. I think you should go 19 staggered, you will survive in nyc just don't go too thin on the tires and you should be fine. Be mindful of potholes while driving and take your time driving.

I'm in the same boat, I have an X and live in NYC, I'm going 19's. i have the stock 18's and they look a little small to me. Just be careful of the streets you're on and you'll be fine.

I have 19" RE 30 and they seem to be considered an "off-size" so tires tend to be expensive. I think my PSS were just under $1500.

Don't know if this matters. But if you track your car, 18" tires will give you less expensive consumable.
