220 winter tires?

I need to get some Blizzeks for my 2008 G37s Coupe. Tire place said that the car could fit 220's on the front and back. This would be better for the snow, but would it ruin the aesthetics of the car too much? Would it make that much difference anyway?

Thanks for your thoughts.

I run 225/50R18 Blizzak LM-25 all around on my sport coupe. It's worked great so far, there's a few sets of 18" wheels that clear the sport brakes. I don't like the look of my wheels (BSA 264), but the offset is perfect and overall it looks great.

i also run 225/50/18 all around on my staggered sport rims. works great. a narrower rear tire helps in the winter as it increases contact pressure due to the smaller contact patch compared to the staggered 245 rear. better bite in snow/slush/etc

Too narrow, IMO I'd go with the 225/245 at least

Thanks for everyone's feedback. We only get a handful of days here in Cincinnati where the snow is an issue. I think I'm going to stick with the 245/225 setup and see how that works. I'm hoping that even the 245 Blizzaks will be a vast improvement over the Eagle F1s that are on there now.

That's a solid choice too, it should be a drastic improvement over any all season tire.

I'd leave the car alone and just stay home...
