Got the new a/s 3 ...quick question.
Hello everyone, recently I purchased a new to me 2010 g37x after my nissan maxima was totaled. Part of the deal I made with the car dealer was a set of new tires before I purchased the vehicle. They supplied me with a set of nexen tires. Fast forward several months, and after reading the posts on this site, I purchased a set of 17inch A/S 3's, since i read the reviews and tests I figured that that would be the best option. So far it's been only 80 miles since install, and although cornering seems to be a bit firmer, that's all I'm noticing thus far. The ride quality as far as comfort seems to be the same, grip level pretty similar as well. Now I'm wondering what all the hype was about, my hope that they will get " broken in" and I will experience what everyone was talking about in regards to their superior quality and handling characteristics . Any thoughts?
Oh and for what it's worth to any perspective shoppers out there, I was able to purchase my vehicle a 2010 g37x journey sedan with 23k miles a lease return for $22500 plus tax. The deals are out there if you hold firm, guess the release of the new Q has the dealers ready to part with stock. To be fair, I did have to get some warranty work, such as a new leather seat on the drivers side due to excessive wear, the transmission reprogram, and there was some rust by the tai lights which they fixed by repainting the trucklid and changing out the lights to a newer design..all covered under warranty and all thanks to the members here enlightening me with their knowledge. Thanks again.
If the Nexens were a summer tire and you now have the All Seasons that may explain why you're not seeing an improvement w/ grip. If the Nexens were also a All Season tire the A/S 3s should be an improvement across the board. Which Nexen tire did you have?
The dealer put on nexen cp641 , it's an all season. Although a cheap tire (Walmart ) sells them for around $98, they aren't that bad. I'm hoping that there is a break in period for the A/S 3 to settle in and perform.
I love mine. Seem to have the perfect balance of grip and comfort. All tires make the car feel different. if you looking for a sportier feel with a harsher ride then summer high performance tires are what you want. I had the stock Dunlops on my 18" G37xS wheels and they blew donkey d###s. I am also hoping my A/S 3s get decent wear and work in the winter.
I picked up a set of nexxen 3000 series.
being that I pretty much only drive the car for work and a rarely on the weekends...I like the tires. Good everyday tire and decent in the rain.
Id give them a 7/10.
If I remember right a set of 245/35/20s was $650 installed at discount tire
