Question Rim offset Help??

Sup everyone! I really need some advice on Rim offset? I'm planning on picking up some work Sc2 rims fir my 07 sedan with the OEM Akebonos BBK.....but I have hard time on chosing the right offset where it stays pretty flush but dies not stick out? Plus have a decent lip! My rim guy is not so sure either? We tried a 20x10.5 with a +45 offset which stuck out the rear fenders too much? Thinking of a 20x10...but not sure of offset to use? Keep in mind my car is bagged..so need it flush or real close so it still tucks. I've searched the rim threads here..a lot of guys are running the 20x10.5 w/45 offset but are not low cars. I'm stuck? I called ravspec they told me go with offsets of 30's..but never give me specific number Untill I wanted to buy! need advice from the rim gods please!!

Here you go Mike, I'm running 295/30/20s on 10x20+45 and it's flush, fronts are 245/35/20 on 8.5" +40 but I intentionally wanted them well inside the fender as I had rubbing issues when they were much further out. Camber is around -1.1

You'll get the same fit at the fender regardless of rim type w/ that offset, but rims w/ big lips bring the spokes closer to the calipers and w/ your Akebonos that can present problems. Best thing to do is contact the wheel vendor and make sure they're aware of your Akebonos, the offsets you need, and see what they can come up with. Not sure about the Sc2s, but Works have a lot of sets that are Akebono friendly

THnx Man..Yea the BBK is giving me fits on what offset to run without hitting them. I see alot of other sedan guy's on here doing more seaching...and how about a 20x10.5 +35 offset? Seems to look good on the pics i saw with the BBK. and looks to be close to flush. not like the +45 that stuck out quite a bit!

If the +45 stuck out quite a bit the +35 would stick out 10mm more, the lower you go in positive offset the further the wheel will stick out.

I'm running a 285/35-19x10.5 +45 and no issue with clearance with the OEM BBK.

Edit: Mine are a three-piece wheel with a lip. View my build thread in my sig for pictures.

Wheel question

I have a similar question. I have a G37x and I hear that you cant have staggered wheels on an AWD and I was looking to get the stock "S" wheels. Should I get 4 front ones or 4 rear ones? I want them wide but still inside the wheel well? Which ones would you recommend?

Sure you can have staggered setups on AWDs, but outside diameter of new tires must be within 3% +/- the stock tires' diameter. There's plenty of tire/wheel combos that meet that criteria

i think your best bet would be to pick the cars you like then try to pm the users to see how much work was involved for their fitment. hopefully some of them will reply back and help you out. though not too much ppl out there are bagged.

heres one, he also lists the specs a few comments below:

Hmm really? I'm getting more confused now! LOL ....Ok with the 45 offset sticking out aboit I say 1/4inch from the rear lip..(Just a Guestimate)...So if i run +35 it will stick out more?? The pics I saw with 35 Offsets in the rear..seemed more Flush than the 45 Offset? Thought more high the + Number the more the Lip will stick out...Not the other way around?? Ughhhh....

thnx Bro! Car looks sweet! Can U post a Pic of the rear tire and how flush it is to the rear Fender Lips? If it still sits inside then this +45 offset will work. Do the 45 Offset the same for all rims with a Lip and No lip? Thats whats confusing me...Cause my rim guy said the 45 Offset only will work with certain design rims....?? I dunno.. Grrrrrr..... I'm am wanting to use the Work SC2 Rim....for my G...

Offsets are the same no matter what the lip design. It's basically the distance from the centerline of the wheel.

To determine flush, you first have to decide if you want factory alignment or camber at your driving height.

Then you can determine width and offset.

Here is some data for you:

Data Base: Lowered with Aftermarket Rims/Tires - G35Driver

For BBK clearance, be sure let the wheel manufacturer know that you have the factory BBKs installed and they will adjust the backspacing of the face (which is different than the offset) for proper caliper clearance.
