My '13 G37x sedan came with Dunlop SP Sport Maxx tires on 18" rims. Since I live in Northern Ohio, it won't be too long before I need either an all season or a winter tire. Any recommendations?

Also a question: I'm not familiar with the TPMS system on this car--the one on my previous car didn't require any kind of special sensor.

What happens to the functioning of the TPMS system if I have my winter or all season tires mounted on the stock wheels?

 

I've been very happy w/ my Toto Proxes 4 plus tires, site vendor Discount Tires for Sale - Tires, Wheels & Accessories | Tread Depot is a great source, Andrew will get you a nice price if you mention this site.

You may want to just get a nice summer tire for half the year, and some dedicated snow tires for winter w/ a dedicated set of rims, you can find sets of OEM Infiniti rims in the marketplace for good deals. As far as changing tires, the TPMS should be fine, if not they can reset them (most tire shops)

 

If it's the oe Dunlop Sport MaxA1-AAS then those are already an all season tire. Not a really good one, but better than a summer tire.

On an a/s side I would look at the Continental Extreme Contact DWS. Those are probably the most popular a/s tire in that size due to their great winter traction. As dedicated snows, the Bridgestone Blizzak and Michelin X-Ice XI3 are the two top performing in our line up.
