The OFFICIAL "I have a wheel offset / tire fitment question!" thread
#676
I know I've asked a few questions already, but I found out the rims I wanted just weren't available in the size I needed for my G37s coupe. I found another set that are staggered 20x10/9 +40 & +35 and I'm told will fit great after lowering on eibach pro springs... My question is what size tires should I run? I don't want any stretch and honestly want the most tire I can get that will fit properly of course. Thanks again for all your help, this thread is sick!!

Hey guys. I have a 2010 G37x Coupe dropped with eibach springs... I've done a lot of research and almost pulled the trigger on a set of Varrstoen's, all the same size and diameter as to not upset the VDC, but then i saw this deal... and i'm itching.
Vossen VVS-082; 20x9 +32 225/30r20 front
20x10.5 + 39 5x114.3 245/35r20 back
i ran the numbers thru the tire size calculator and know i would have to change the front tires to something that remains within the 3% variance.
My question is will the offset or wheel width affect the VDC negatively or can i just swap the front tires and be safe?
Ultimately, I don't want to mess with the VDC as I've had a history of problems with past BMW's and TSW wheels.

Okay, I need to get two rear tires for my vossens as soon as possible but can't find anywhere in town that have the size I'm running them on right now. They're 19x10 and I'm lowered on tein h techs. Trying to avoid as much camber as possible, any recommendations that would work? (Also is a 45 sidewall going to be too bulky because I have found quite a few sizes that would work with it)

The 265/could be either a 40 or 35 series but a 275 or 285 should be a 35 series for proper diameter.

I got a 12 G37xS AWD and looking to purchase a set of 20x9 with +35 offset.
Discount tire recommended the tire size...235/35/20, but can I go wider with the tire size...245/35/20 all around?
I don't want any stretch or rubbing issues and want the most tire I can get that will fit properly. Thanks again...

So I installed 19" M45 Sport rims on my 2012 G37x sedan and boy can I feel/hear the road with the lower profile tires. Quite a difference from the winter tires....but they were mush.
Tires are used BFG g-Force Sport COMP-2. 245/40/ZR19
I used 15mm spacers and they look great.
Breaking seems kind of harsh at lower speeds, is this also to be expected?

Ross, you did several changes at once so feeling like it was a pretty dramatic difference is to be expected. Going from "mushy" A/S tires to stiff sidewall summer grips will firm things up and going to a +2 wheel size will firm it up further. As far as braking seeming harsh, it will since going to smaller and stiffer sidewalls, and the summer tire compound will increase your NVH a fair amount. Definitely worth the tradeoff IMO, now you can enjoy your new performance oriented G
Thanks!

TIRE SIZE HELP: I just got new wheels that are 19x9 +30, 19x10.5 +42. I will be running a 10mm spacer in the rear making it 19x10.5 +32. What tire sizes should I run with this set up? My car is a 2010 G37 sedan rwd with Stance SS coilovers and rear SPC camber/toe bolt kit. TIA
