tires & stretching

What's up..I'm currently in the market for new 19' wheels and I'm trying to use the tires I have currently on my stock 19' type S wheels. Tires are Yokohama AVID ENVigor.

I'm running 225/45/19 up front and 245/40/19 in the back..my question is how far can I stretch these tires? Is it possible to go 19x9.5 up front & 19x10.5 in the back?

I never stretched tires before so take it easy..

You think it's possible to do 19x11 in the rear or would that be unsafe?

this is all relevant to how much clearance you need, what offsets and how much camber you are running. This thread should answer most your questions https://www.myg37.com/forums/wheels-...sh-thread.html

You'll generally need an aggressive offset if you want to run stretch tires..and than you'll need to be fairly low. Otherwise it would either look tucked and stretched or if the offset is aggressive and you're not low enough you'll look like a low rider. It is possible to put 225 on 9.5" width wheel and 245 on 10.5" wheel. I've seen people put 245 on 11" width as well.

Here's a pic of a 19x11 on 245/35 tire on a Z. Of course they both have different offsets.

As of of now I have Eibach Prokit installed. I haven't messed with anything else. I am running 20mm spacers up front & 25mm in the back.

The wheels I want are 19x9.5 up front ET22. The rear would be either 19x10 ET25 or 19x11 ET25.

would this set up work?

the +22 varrstoens dont clear our brakes. The 9.5+12mm's do

Id also reccomend a 225/40 on the 9.5 and not the 225/45 stock size, youll most likely rub because of the taller front sidewall.

I'm thinking of going with VMR wheels for now before I buy what I really want. I really need to use the tires I have new because they are literally brand new & cost me a good amount of money.

What do you suggest? 19x9 in front & 19x10 in back? I wanted to go a little wider up front with 19x9.5 but I hear it's not smart stretching the tire that far.

ive run 9.5+12 w/ 225/45/19 and 10.5+12 w/ 245/40/19. the stretch was moderate on the front with the 45 series. heres a pic to show the setup, unfortunately its the best pic to show the stretch kinda...

If you plan on getting wheels to replace the VMRs maybe just hold off on wheels then buying the ones you truly want? that way you dont have a set of stocks, and the vmrs

Well I banged my stock 19s up pretty bad and I can't see spending $400 to get the rash fixed when another 5 and I get am entire new set, plus I want to order coils. I can do wheels & coils now and later down the road get the other wheels.

The 19x9.5 have a ET of 22. Would the 225/45/19 work with that? These #s confuse the sh#t out of me.so bare with me please lol.

The rear 19x10 have ET 25. Would the 245/40/19 work?

Appreciate your help brotha. This is my first time doing this. BTW- I do have the BBK.

its all good bro, the sizing can be confusing at first. took me a little while to get it all straight and now i actually sell wheels for an online company.

the only thing with the 9.5 front and 10 inch rear is that the front wheels are going to be a bit more aggressive than the rears and the stretch wont really match up. a 9.5/10.5 or a 9/10 setup would be better.

I gotta go with what I have. These tires have less than 4k miles on them. I'm going to go with the original plan now that I know it will work.. 19x9.5 in front & 19x10.5 in back. That should ride nice & sit well with Eibach Prokit right?
