Preventing Wheel Scratches
Preventing Wheel Scratches
I'm sure I'm not the only paranoid person here who's afraid the dealer (still under warranty) or any tire installer might scratch your wheels when they take the wheels off the car.
I've got the McGard lug nuts and lock and what I've done is wrapped the SplineDrive tool and wheel lock key with duct tape so that when I take the car in for servicing there's less chance of them scratching the rims up. I figure at least it's not metal on metal and may "soften" the blow if they come in contact with the wheels.
I know I'm careful when I do it myself but I just don't trust the other guys. Anyone else have any ingenious ideas? I was thinking a thin piece of felt but didn't have any so I just used black duct tape.
