VMR V710's and Swift Springs

As promised, here are a couple pics......19" VMR V710's dropped on Swift X Springs. The pics do not do the car justice. Tough to see the fender to tire height on a black car. Everyone likes/wants something different....I wanted a conservative daily driver with a square set-up that I can rotate and don't have to worry about the AWD having any issues since am still under warranty.

Do not cut factory springs. The Swift X springs were designed specifically for the X sedans. Super easy install....easier than the non-X sedans.

Looks great, that's the way to lower an X, close the gap but still keep it high enough that it's an easy daily driver. Those Swift springs really do the job well, nice wheels too!

Thanks! Yep, 19 x 8.5 with a 35 offset. That is the only offset they offer right now in the 8.5" with our bolt pattern which is probably perfect for a square set-up anyway. They have a 9.5" with a 22 offset but that was more aggressive than I wanted and you would need to run some negative camber to tuck the rear.

hmmm...i don't think i will be lowering the car, so +35 might poke out a tad with stock RWD suspension.

You are running the coupe 19's correct?? I think those rears are 8.5 with a 45 offset.....correct? That would mean an 8.5" with a 35 offset would be less than 1/2" (0.39) wider at the fender. Do you have that room? I am definitely inside of flush with the V710's running less than 2 degrees of negative camber.

For what it's worth, I think your car looks great with the coupe wheels.

Thanks...yes, I have the coupe wheels and I love the way they look with stock rwd suspension. The rears are 9in with 45 offset. So with the VMRs, the rears would poke out additional 4mm. The fronts are 8.5 with 43 offset, so the VMRs would stick out addtional 8mm. I guess it's not much and could work. But would still like to see them on the car first.

Knock yourself out playing with the offset calculator!!! If you are running stock wheels you can do a search for width and offset then just plug in the info on whatever other wheels you are considering. Remember camber will affect how the wheels tuck.

Rocket Jockey, very nice setup. I believe I'm convinced lol. I haven't even picked up my car yet(G37XS) and I want to change out the wheels and springs. Can you confirm your not using spacers and the 35 offset is will do the trick. We get a fair bit of snow up here and have some rough roads so I cant be too aggressive with the drop and how flush the wheels will be with the fenders. I'm in the same boat as you with the AWD and the conservative DD mentality/warranty issues.

I am not running any spacers.....and don't want to run spacers. In my opinion, a 35 offset with an 8.5" or even 9" wheel running a 245/45/19 is the best on a 19" square set-up.....no poke......no rubbing.

I originally ordered Forgestar F14's and they can custom cut the offset to anything you want and they recommended a 35 offset as the best for a square set-up with their 9" wheels.

I am happy with my set-up,
RJ
