Be careful there, what front tire are you running?
Might have to run 255/40 all around, it will stretch enough to tuck inside the rear fender edge but not stretch enough to alter the diameter enough to cause problems w/ your AWD. If you run tires w/ a front to rear diameter variance over 1% you may cause the AWD light to come on at higher speeds and could cause some damage to that system.

Yeah, the +23 offset in back is the killer. Member Ryne did the staggered wheel w/ same tire size on his AWD coupe and it actually worked well. I think the 255/40s all around is your best bet as far as keeping everything inside your fender edges and not messing w/ your AWD system. You could possibly run a 265/35 in back but then you'd need a 235/40 front and those sizes aren't that common, so finding tires you like might be a chore. 275s can work w/ extra camber but IMO keeping alignment close to spec is more important, especially w/ the more complex AWD setup.

It's time I need to start thinking about summer tires, and after reading 89 pages I still need help. I'd like to run less stagger for autocross/track this year. My car is a 2008 journey coupe, lowered on Eibach springs.
My current setup is 285/20-30 on a 10.5" rim, 33mm offset in back and 245/20-35 on a 8.5" rim, 25mm offset in front. I tried the 285's up front and they fit and turn lock to lock, but I suspect first bump would take out the front fender. I need help choosing a rim that will work up front to pair better with the 285 in back.
Consensus looks like I could get away with 19" rim, 9.5" width, and offset in the range of 25-30mm? What would everyone recommend? What offset would pull the outside edge inboard?
Can I fit a 275/35ZR19 in front without tearing up the fenders, or would a 265/35ZR19 be better? I can find Toyo Proxies in the 275 width, but would have to go to Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 for the 265 width. This would be for track only setup, although I have to drive 40 miles each way to get there ...

turbohounds... coupe or sedan?
The rim is kind of irrelevant outside of being safe for the tire. It's mainly about the offset, tire width and camber. On my sedan I am running 255 @ +25 up front and it just clears with stock arms. +45 would probably enable 275-285 on the outside if it clears the spindle. I have seen people fit 275s up front so I'm pretty sure the spindle clears.
Man that is a lot of meat.
