Exclamation Low Tire Pressure Warning

So my car is usually garaged but I left it out the other day until about 10 pm, and it was quite cool out... It was about 45-50 degrees... Now my bro has a 2009 G37x sedan and his had the same problem almost a month ago when it first got cool out, and his car is always outside... I checked his pressures and put a little air in each tire and it went off a couple of days later... I haven't had a chance to check mine because of school and now it's raining today... Is this normal that when it gets cool out the tire pressure warning comes up? My previous car was a 2000 Mustang and it didn't have a tire pressure system so I'm quite clueless with this... LOL

It's normal that with a large drop in temperature that your tire pressure will drop as well. In your case it seems to have dropped enough to trigger the low pressure warning light. It was probably somewhat low before. Keep a tire gauge in your car and keep them properly inflated. Problem solved.

For every 10° Fahrenheit change in air temperature, your tire's inflation pressure will change by about 1 psi (up with higher temperatures and down with lower).

No need; you need to drive 5 miles for it to reset. FYI you cannot eyeball which tire is low on air so a guage will tell you if you have the right amount of air to begin with.

I usually fill my tires up to around 35psi cold when it starts getting cooler out just to be sure I won't run into a cold weather low pressure issue. Tires will also leak tiny amounts of air over time so it's always wise to check your tires every month or so.

Mine has been on for about a month now. All tires are at 36psi. I am going to reset the system when i get a chance, hoping that is all it needs. How long do the batteries last in the sensors? Mine is an 08, so that's about 4 years now.

I just filled mine up... I checked 3 of them and they were around 30 so I filled them to the 33 cold that it says on the inside of the door... However, my drivers side rear tire was at about 40 psi (WTF?) so I got my key out, dumped it down to the 33 of the others... Got in and started it up, no more notification... Could the 40 psi tire have been throwing it off?

Don't trust the Gas station gauge ... think about how many people use it and just drop the hose to the ground. You can get a good gauge (not a Pep Boys or Walmart special) for less than $20. Check your tires when they are cold (aka not driving around for a while).
