I'm a complete amateur at this so I'm learning as I go along. I'm hoping someone can explain a couple of things to me

I want to swap out my 2011 coupe wheels for something nicer

Now from what I understand, the g37 wheels are:
19 x 8.5 inch (front)
19 x 9 inch (back)

I found a nice pair of alloys I like but they only come as 19x8.5 so If I swap out all four, the back ones will be 1 inch too small for the tyre. How do I compensate for this?

Also, how do I know if an alloy is going to fit? I keep seeing things about the bolt placings and the offsets (these particular wheels say they are 35-50 offsets). Will they fit straight on?

I'm contemplating these alloys:

 

Save your money and keep what you have. The stock wheels are just fine and are quite nice. Why replace wheels and tires, only to have the looks of permanently dirty/brake dust covered wheels?

 

if you do change your wheels make sure the bolt pattern on the wheel is 5 x 114. Secondly, make sure you have proper offsets. The offsets will determine how far the wheels will poke out from you wheel well. Too conservative and the wheels will hide inside the well, not a good look, IMO. Too aggressive and the wheels will poke out and could cause rubbing issues. Any good wheel/tire shop can help you with the right offsets and recommend something that you will like and look good. Also, if you shop on some of the online stores like Tirerack.com or Wheelsnext.com, all you need to do is put in your vehicle information and they will display the products that will fit your car. Good luck and post pics if you decide to get new shoes.

 

If I had to choose, it would be the middle wheel...but I'd get staggered man....or keep the stockers

 

8.5" in the rear would be a downgrade man

Staggered set up is where to go. I like the thrid ones.. Off sets I have no clue either.. LOL Going through this now with my car..

IE 19x8 front 19x9.5 rears, Offsets good luck. NO CLUE sorry

 

Guys I didn't ask whether I should keep the stocks or not. I don't like them and I want to change them.

My questions were what happens when I get a wheel size that's smaller than the current? Does it still fit my back tyre? What can I do besides having the alloys replicated in the correct size?

Regarding offsets...I have absolutely no idea how it works. That's why I mentioned the wheel descriptions are saying 35-50 offset and asked if that works for the G37.

I don't want to replace my tyres since the car has 300miles on it only so they're brand new.

I'm contemplating those alloys because I'm specifically looking for thicker/beefier alloys. I'm not a fan of thin spokes though I notice most people on the forums have them.

 

Have any of you seen the 2011 sport wheels??? Anything is an upgrade from those. I choose the middle as well.

 

Do you have any more options? The ones in the op are fugly. Plus offsets are really weak...35-50?? On a 8.5" wheel you should be looking for an offset in the 20s, maybe low 30s.

Not really, those are the only thick wheels that look good to me. I really like the first one.

Regarding the off-sets, they're advertised as 35-50 i believe on the website where I can order them from. Does that mean they will fit onto the g37 coupe without any issues? I don't know enough and certainly don't want to tamper with anything, I just want a straight easy swap out of the alloys.

 

Also I don't think anyone's yet answered what happens on the back set, they are 8.5 alloys and currently the g37 coupe has 9.5

Would I have to buy smaller tyres?

 

I agree with you completely on the 2011 sport wheels being disgusting lol. What's the rear tire size you have now on the sport wheels?

 

It's a tough question to answer because most of us who have aftermarket wheels have a staggered set up and typically go with a lower profile tire vs rhe stock OEM tires ... Running the same width all the way around is more common on awd cars like the Evo. Is there any particular reason you don't want a larger width in the rear?
