Danger with spacers?

Does anyone know the dangers of having spacers? I wanted to get 15/20 mm all around, but my friend warned me not to do it for safety reasons. Thoughts? Has anyone had any issues after spacers?

I have never had spacers on any of my cars, but what ive been told is that the danger comes from incorrect instillation. Also some spacer designs prevent the wheel from biting on as much lug thread as it would without them, therefore makeing it less safe

No problems here for about 3 months...knock on wood. Just make sure you get hubcentric ones, torque them in a star pattern to 80 ft/lbs and you're golden. Btw, since you're on the stock 19s, get 20mm all around - that's what everybody runs around here. You'll still be tucked with the 15mm.

No issues if you install correctly, which is very easy. Get the spacers with the built in studs. Makes things a lot easier. If you get a regular spacer don't forget to also replace your OEM studs with extended studs.

+1 on spacers with built-in studs

I see H&R's being used on EVO's and STI's at every local race, never heard of one that failed or introduced safety issues

Look into getting wheel adapters not spacers. Anything that requires modification of stock studs I would stay clear of. I've been running 25mm's in the front and 31's in the rear of my g35 for 2+ years now without ever encountering any issues.

I believe wheel adapters are the proper term for spacers with built in studs. Though most of us here nowadays just call it spacers with built in studs lol

You can make spacers of any sizes up a certain point. I think kday would have more info about those

Been on 20MM H&Rs for 12K miles now, with no issues.

Make sure you use a torque wrench, and torque in steps. 20, 40 , 60, then 85lbs.

BTW 20MM all around on staggered OEMs look best. I started with the 15/20 combo.

I have brand new 25mm wheel adapters, hubcentric to Z/G specification and machined from 1 solid piece of 6061-t6 billet aluminum
