DPE Wheels...... Problem so far with them

I'm just going to air this out because I am starting to get infuriated with them. I ordered my wheels directly through DPE because there are no dealers in my area so they gave me the discounted price dealers give. After paying for half the wheels and giving them the brake diagram for the AP Racing 6 pot brakes, my order technically started on April 25 (I paid on April 22). I was told that my order should take 4-6 weeks to complete. I got a call from them on May 27 to let me know that my wheels should be shipped out the following Friday, June 3. I e-mailed them again on June 6 to ask if my wheels were going to be shipped out since I didn't hear from them on Friday. I was told that my wheels were in the "final stages" of being finished. I e-mailed them again on June 15 to find out if they were done yet and I still have yet to get an answer. Right now I got Royal_T from my350z/g35driver to help me out to get in contact with the person I was working with (Royal_T wasn't who I went through, he is being nice and trying to help me out since he is a rep now). Right now it has been 8 weeks since my order. I'm getting kind of pissed at the situation. In all honesty, I wouldn't be so mad if they didn't call me and tell me when they SHOULD have been shipped. Also doesn't help that the order time they told me has now gone over. I did not order something insane, just matte black centers w/ polished lips and the inner barrel done in silver. My guess is they didn't even start on them. If they didn't, I'm cancelling my order and going with VIP Modular. I'll update once I find something else out.

Seems to be the norm with a lot of these so called "high end" wheel companies. When it comes down to it anybody can make good wheels, however, not everyone can provide good customer service.

Sorry to hear that bro. I was hoping to see the DPE's on your car. Either way you go, the wheels will look sick.

Go with VIP Modulars. You won't regret it.

Although you shouldn't have to, I'd say always prepare to wait a month over the maximum time they say it'll take. It happens that way a lot of the time. Hold out that little longer for some sexxxxxxxxxxxy wheels!

I was going to call them today but I have a headache (from the ****ing country music they are playing over the loudspeakers at work in an office building) which means I'm even more irritable at the moment and I cant call them and curse them off while sitting at my desk. I'm going to give them an option, have my wheels done by Friday or they lost my business and I will refuse to pay a restocking fee since they are going to be over 3 weeks later than the 4-6 week quote.

this is the pain of ordering custom wheels...it seems to me that the orders always have some sort of issue - I waiting 12 weeks for my last set, not a great experience by far.....

I am having a similar issue with some Vossen wheels I ordered.

Ordered CV1's in Matte Black, 20 x 9 +32 all around, on April 19th from a local vendor. I was told it would be UP TO 60 days before they got my wheels (after they checked with Vossen). Well... 60 days was Saturday. No calls. No updates.

So I call them... they call Vossen and call me back. Supposedly Vossen says they won't expect that shipment until JULY 16th. What. The. Fark.

Customer service with this vendor is absolutely horrid.

Yeah it shouldnt take that long... I just finished a custom set of strasse wheels for one of my BMW customers in 4 weeks including ordering tires and mounting and balancing. Honestly, it take companies like Strasse Forged 3-4 weeks to have custom wheels made and custom painted for our customers even our CF wheels take only 6-8 weeks.

Mike

Good luck with your order I hope you work things out.

I can give you the truth on the matter since I use to sell wheels back in the day. Any muti pc wheel will need to be custom and do take time. I know they all say 3-4 week turn around but sometimes that isnt the case and you either have to just accept it and know that you are getting a CUSTOM wheel or just find something thats instock.
Patience young gross hopper!
