Tire recommendation for G37S
Tire recommendation for G37S
My '09 G with sport package is due for tires. Got 29k out of the stock Bridgestones, which is pretty impressive for what the tire is. Wanted to post in this section as I am looking for recommendations for folks who have replaced tires on their sedan. Lots of posts about aftermarket wheels/tires in that section, but I was hoping for some good info from my fellow G sedan owners!
My requirements:
- Live in FL, so A/S is not important
- Needs to have good tread-wear. The lease is up in 14 months, and I do not want to get another set when I have to turn the car in.
- I like the ride, handling of the stock RE050A's, but better wet traction would be nice.
So far I am leaning towards the Bridgestone RE760's. Anybody have them and can comment? Any other recommendations? Thanks in advance.

Here's the staggered sets over on Tirerack if that helps

If you can afford them I would get the new Michelin Super Sports. I was interested in the S-drives but now that Michelin makes these tire in the stock size they just became my 1st choice. Unless at the time money becomes a factor.
The Michelins look awesome, but frankly, I doubt the G really needs a tire like this. Driving around Miami (with mostly highway) for me. They are not that much more money than the other two options, so that's no big deal. And, I bet they will not have a strong wear rating.
Hankook Ventus V12 Evo. Inexpensive, performs well, outlasts most stock tires, and it'll carry you through the next 14 months. I bought these for my IS350, and was very impressed. I was impressed enough with the brand that I bought Hankooks for my wife's SUV, and they've been great as well.
No idea why you'd spend Michelin $$ on a lease unless you just can't stand not to.

Sorry didn't realize you were leasing. Get something else. I'm not, I want those Michelins.

I just replaced the stock rear (Re050) with RE760s because I didn't want to wait 2 days for Hankook and the difference in price was only $15 each. I had great experience with V12 Evo on my previous car and I really liked their high speed performance and low noise level compared to the bridegstone RFTs.
RE760s, I think, are as good as the stock ones and i got the chance to test the wet traction 2 days after the installation during the late wet winter storm here in Lost Insanegeles. High speed test (100+) was all normal and the normal traction control interference came up at quick street turns..
If you can wait, go for the Hankooks.. I am still amazed at how quiet those tires were.
