help understanding wheel offset

i am looking at some wheels for the near future (forgestar f14) and i am having troubing understanding what the wheel offset is. does it effect the handling of my car? if so for example could someone tell me the best offsets to get 19" f14's that would handle the best. sorry if its a dumb question but id rather know tho than pretend to understand lol

I'll help you in the right direction before you get mobbed and beat down lol! They will tell you that "SEARCH is your best friend" which is true!

The choice offset for most is where the rims lip meets the fender line. This brings the rims outward more creating a muscular stance look vs stock where the tires rim edge is tucked under the car. Some like an aggressive offset that goes past the fender line which requires stretching smaller tires to get a better curved edge so it wont rub on especially lowered vehicles.

Now for the offset, someone else can chime in to help you with that...
I would recommend going 20 inch rims though. Tires are much cheaper too.
