G37x original 18" wheels - tire option question

Hey everyone,

I'm very new to both my 2009 G37x and to MyG37.com. Glad to meet you all!

That being said, here's my scenario: I need to replace the original tires on my car. I have the 2009 G37x with original 18" wheels (225/50-18). I have gone to tirerack.com and other websites to research my options. I live in the northwest and I deal with a long cold season with a decent amount of snow/ice and I want a decent all-season tire.

I settled on the Continental ExtremeContact DWS. These tires do not come in 225/50/18. The closest size that was identified was 235/45/18. The guy at the tire place said that this size would work fine. Anyone out there familiar enough with this situation to give me more confidence in buying 235/45/18s for my G37x?

Thanks again in advance and good meeting you all.

- Gigan

Mods: please feel free to move this to the wheels & tires section. I noticed after thread creation that there was a wheels & tire section. Thanks.
