Just placed an order on tirerack.com for my winter package for my '08 G37S 6MT. A little concerned because the rim (18x8 Sport Edition A7 Silver Painted) is not available until 11/26 so I won't be receiving my order until 12/2!! Hope it doesn't snow before then (I'm in Chicago). The tires going on those rims are the 225/50R18 Bridgestone Blizzak LM-25s. All-in, with shipping - I paid $1,239. More than I wanted to, but I am trying to look at it objectively. They will help me drive better in the winter, AND allow each set of tires to last longer. I was hoping to get a used set through the forum, but it looks like no one here had any available to ship to Chi.

Any feedback on the Blizzak LM-25s.. ?? Any other suggestions to prepare my car for winter?? I just bought my car about a month and a half ago. Previously drove an Acura TSX, so this winter is going to be a totally different experience for me. Would appreciate any suggestions/comments from this group.

I bought the same wheel and tire package as you from TireRack as well.
This will also be my first winter with the G37 and winter tires. Most of the reviews I read about the LM-25 are good for winter.

 

I just got a set from someone on the forums for $650. I'm excited to be able to drive my G in the winter weather now, especially since it's my only car.

 

I got a similar setup for my car. 18" Fastwheel rims I got locally along with Michelin X-Ice from tirerack.com

Don't know much about the LM-25s, but after doing some research on those and the X-Ice I settled for the X-Ice. Well see how both the G and the michelins will hold up this winter!

I'll be putting them on in about 10 days! I'll miss the grippy summers

 

ViPaDawG - nice grab for $650! That is what I WANTED to pay for a winter package. Oh well. Seems like all the deals were out east, in VA. None in Chicago.

Will definitely miss the grippy summers. This is my only car, so I'm hoping I make it through the winter with no problems/accidents (fingers crossed).
