Yokohama avid ENVigor

Planning on getting the yokohama avid envigors in 19 inch for the g37s. Anyone have these? Will they be good in the snow(3 inches or so) or are they useless in the snow? I figured because they are all season, they will get me through the winter. Any input is appreciated.

all seasons means good at nothing, ok at everything. they will get you through winter, possibly very light snow but dont expect to go through a few inches without sliding around, especially with rwd.

I have them. Just got them.

I wanted something that'll last longer than the stock RE050s. I don't track the car but do some spirited driving once in a while. Mostly back and forth to work though.

I got them because they're supposed to be quiet and last a long time. They are pretty quiet, but I haven't had them long enough to see how they wear. They have a treadwear rating of 560 compared to the 140 on the RE050s though.

I'm pretty sure you'll still want snow tires (blizzaks) for the snow, especially if you have RWD.

If you get a lot of snow in your area you might consider a more sportier summer tire with better wear rating such as the RE760 and a set of blizzaks for the winter.

Putting them on Rose's car here in a few weeks. Very interested to see how these perform as well.

These tires look great... And since I'm still on the OEM Potenzas I can't wait to get new.
(Don't start with me about how grippy they are and stopping power.. They're loud and hard)

My issue with the Envigors is that I want to upsize to 245/40 F and 275/35 R and you can't
with that tire... They don't come in that size... So for an Ultra High Perf All Seas gotta go with: Conti Ex DWS

Just Installed

I just purchased the Avid Envigor's for my 2009 G37S. After about 100 miles, I like them. The ride is not nearly as stiff as the Bridgerock 050s that came stock. Traction and cornering appear excellent in the dry -- no rain yet. But the feel is more compliant and smooth; control appears excellent. Got rid of the noise present since about 13K miles from the originals. No appearant lateral sidewall flex even though compliance seems much better.

I have EnVigors on my RX-8 (which came with the same crap Bridgestones as my G37) and they are MUCH better than the 5 year old Bridgestones were, but then probably anything new would be. Overall I am impressed. Nice ride, reasonably quiet (and priced) and great in the rain.

RE760 is more sportier than RE050? I only know it has a much higher tread wear rating...

Availability

I got mine at buywheelstoday.com. They were in stock and delivered within a week of placing the order. Price was a few dollars less than discounttiredirect.com ortirerack.com, which were backordered for at least a month.

Buywheelstoday.com had reviews as to the quality of tires and service. Have u had any problems with the quality of the tires or their service?

Been a great tire thus far. Hasn't been through a full blown winter at this point, but the few that have had them in snow didn't have any complaints.
