I have Yokohama S.Drive's and love them...I was also looking at the Hankook Ventus V12 Evo and I know a lot of people that have them and love them...there's also plenty of other threads under the Wheel/Tire section talking about it

 

I just got the Ventus V12's and they're nice. Definitely a step down from the RE050A's, but you get what you pay for. Upside is that the ride quality is much better than stock tires. Sidewalls are a bit soft which I can tell when making some harder turns.

But overall, I'm very happy with the tires.

I've got Potenza RE760s and I love em. Much quieter and softer ride. Haven't noticed any degradation in performance from the RE050a's

 

Just put on the Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position not too long ago, love them!

 

I'm going with BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW NT Tires. I'm now just waiting for my wheels to arrives.

 

Get yourself some 275 Hankook Ventus V12 for the rear and 245 in the front.

I have a brand new set of Hankook Ventus V12. I've also had the Yoko S Drive. Both are good. Hankooks are a little quieter. Yokos may be slightly better in hard turns. They're pretty close IMO. You wont go wrong with either. Both get really noisy when worn but not as bad as the OEM Bridgestone. But that's sot be expected with this type of tire.

 

I just installed a set of Yokohama AVID Envigors on my '08 G37 S last night. I spent weeks researching the site and reading various threads and member opinions. The ride is much different than the Bridgestones. It is a smoother more supple ride. However, as other users have indicated in the past, a quick turn to the left leaves the other side playing a bit of catch-up.

Again, it's a compromise. I found that this was the only tire that had a 45k mile warranty and the longest tread life rating. because I drive over 20k miles per year on this car, longevity was very important for me because I didn't want to change a tire every year which gets expensive.

It's all about you, how you drive and what's important to you. If I drove less and wanted to concentrate on a more aggressive handling tire, I certainly would have gone for any of the other tires listed above.

In the end, there are certain tradeoffs. I was able to feel an immediate difference with my car on the Yokohamas, but I don't drive it very aggressively either. So, for me, it works fine because I want the tires to last a long time.

I'm on my second set of Vredestein's and think they're great! And the price is good. Check out Preformance Plus Tire in Long Beach, Ca. I think they ship, too.

 

I'm pretty sure the higher mileage warranties will be void since you can't properly rotate the tires on the S models, but I'm also going with one of those next time to keep the overall expense and hassle of changing tires so often down. I also am looking for a better winter ride as the RE 050s are too stiff during those months.

 

I advice you to checkout Yokohama Advan Sport or Yokohama S.drive

They drive nicely and grip wise is fantastic just like Bridgestone + the car feels very smooth driving them and not noisy at all.

The price is decent and cheaper than Bridgestone.


Some people suggested Nitto. Nitto are very nice tires and I loved them, but Grip wise is 3 out of 10. If the road is wet and you are going a little fast entering some corner it might slip on the road and that's what happened to me.

I advice you to go by these if you want the car to drive nicely and I trust no other tires:

1. Michelin Pilot Sport

2. Bridgestone Potenza

3. Yokohama S.drive or Advan Sport

Other tires for me would be rated under 5 out of 10

 

Nitto NT 05s are 3 out of 10 for grip???

 

yes, in a rainy day or when the water of the rain just started to dry and there is some water left on the road. go at speed 60km or 80km over any medium right or left turn. Believe me it will slip. Not only that. go a bit fast on acceleration while you are at full stop you will notice the car is slipping on a fast acceleration start. That's their best what they call Nitto Invo where they are saying on the website it's grip wise is very good which gives the car a very good acceleration and it was made for sport cars...

When also I used Nitto NT555 on my Lexus IS300 previous car. same issue easily the car slips and after 6 month of using the tire it started to get deep cut unlike Bridgestone Potenza it lasted for 1 year and half. which was my OEM tire that I got when I bought the car. it started to get the deep cuts after 1 year and 2 months.

That's why I hate Nitto it's not a good tire in my opinion cause it gets dangerous to drive the car specially when the weather is wet
