Tires for G37S
Embarrassed to say I am have some difficulty understanding what my best tire options are for the G37S Coupe.
I live in Charlotte, NC. Mix of local and highway driving. If it snows, I will drive my truck so that is not a concern.
After reading dozen of posts, I decided on the Michelin Pilot Sport AS Plus. But they don't come in the size of my stock tires, so I am left wondering if this is a good tire for my car, and whether the difference in size would be good, better or neutral.
Any thoughts?
One last question: Roughly speaking, how much can I expect to save by ordering on-line? Doesn't that really annoy the local guy that I ask to install them?
Thanks.

I am not knowledgeable on tire sizes to answer your question directly, but as far as ordering online, you can save TONS by buying with the right online dealer.
There are several online dealers here on the forum, and a lot of good deals to be had.

New for 2010, these look promising and all season too. Yokohama AVID Envigor http://www.yokohamatire.com/tires/avid_envigor.aspx
There's also Nitto® INVO, and this site seems to have better pricing. They may just not have Avid's online yet.
You can call a Discount tires or wherever you plan to have them mounted and use online pricing to negotiate a better deal possibly. I brought a single in from a flat and had them replace it.. no problems and will be bringing in two fronts for replacement soon from bad camber wear, installing a front camber kit and alignment shortly after.

Thanks for the comments and guidance. I had very little comfort with the idea of buying tires online, but I am getting there.
The Yokohama seems very interesting and also seems to be getting very good reviews -- I appreciate the suggestion.
The Michelin I had mentioned seems like a great tire but I would need to go a little wider in front and there would be a slight downgrade in steering. I doubt I would notice but I might.
I guess the question boils down to Yokohama v. Michelin.
Hey, RedG37SNC, I have not seen your car in Charlotte. Mine does not have any visible mods (a basic black on black G37S with a basic spoiler) but if I see your car on the road I will give you a beep. (I am mostly confined to the SouthPark area, or the highways).

Yokohama.S drives are what are going on my new iForged wheels. They are not as sticky as the OEM bridgestones but if you don't go to the track that is a non-factor.
The two most popular tires for our cars I've seen is the Yokohama.S drives and Hancook Ventus Evo, although some people say their Hancook wear down super fast, but that seems to be a rare occurrence b/w all the people I've talked to that have them

I have the Michelins- went wider in both front and back (245 /40/ 19 Front 275/ 35 /19) Rear. Gives it a nice aggressive look. I didn't notice any negative issues with steering it did make the steering a little quicker and I had to get used to it.
