Overwhelmed by wheel selection process

OK, so I have decided on a lot of the major decisions. I want 19" 5- or 6- spoke wheels in a silver/polished finish. My price point is somewhere around $500 a wheel. There are a bazilion brands with wheels that fit these criteria. So, which brands do you all like/dislike? How many companies (if any) make forged wheels in this range?

I want a good looking, tough wheel, lighter would be better but not crucial. I use the car for spirited daily driving. I don't want to lose significant performance by adding a larger and heavier wheel, but I don't want to fork over 1-2k per wheel either. Also, right now I have pretty tarnished 10-spoke stock 17" wheels on it, so anything is going to be an upgrade.

I know the look I am going for, I just don't want to regret the purchase and would like some testimonials on what to look hard at and what to run hard from.

Wheels are such a personal preference type of thing that it is hard to say. I personally think for lower priced wheels, something like Enkei are a good bet. A lot of people on here like Vossen, and it is another affordable wheel that meets your criteria. But, there are so many wheels that fall into the range you have provided. If you are willing to spend a little more, you can open up even more possibilities.

I think you are better off picking out 4-5 wheels you like, and asking for feedback on those specific wheels.

OK, I will keep looking. I have several I like, but will put together a list and see what people know about them. It's unbelievable what is available out there.

I have stock 17s on my 2010 X, and they don't look like much. Something larger would be better. The 19s from the S Coupe would look amazing on the sedan. But I always wondered .... can you just slap on the 19s or do you have to modify the suspension somehow for it to be able to handle the size increase

^Search my friend, search. it has been done many times. And like you said, it looks A LOT better. No modifications needed (unless of course you are willing to lower the car, which would make it look 100x's better lol)

I don't know about the G, but on older cars, for example if the stock wheels were 15's, and you upgraded to 17's or 18's, the stock shocks wouldn't last too long.

A few things about buying wheels...

--DO NOT SETTLE. get what you want. otherwise you will regret it (this takes patience sometimes)

--You get what you pay for. if you are looking for a cheap solution, wheels isnt the place to be cheap. Save for a quality wheel.

--Shop around for the best price. When you do find the wheel you like, look at several different sources to get it, and get the best deal you can.

Don't know why no one has commented on this. I don't know of any company that makes forged wheels for 2000. For forged, you'll be looking at 3000 or even more. I would highly doubt you can find a set of quality forged wheels for below 2500, unless you buy used.

Check out Forgestar F05. It's well within your budget, 5 spoke, light-weight.

PM danny@limited edition if you have any questions.

I think Vossens worth every dollar.
It is not overpriced like some other wheels, and it fits our G perfectly.
I already had two Vossens and can't wait till the next one.

You should go see the pictures from Vossen official website of our infinitis

Guess I was lucky picking up the 19" forged A34 Nismos a few years ago for the Maxima. They fit perfectly on my G sedan... and I didn't even pay $200 a wheel.

what are the limitations for the g37x? All wheels have to be the same size because of the intelligent AWD? Just curious
